Post-Holiday Fasting?

#1

The holidays have passed and while I didn’t go bonkers, I did give myself permission to indulge at certain times. During those two weeks, I often went OMAD, not something I usually do. I usually do lunch and dinner only. I don’t know if it is just a fluke, but I found I was able to still feel pretty good most days (not too foggy or bloated). And the scale was only up a smidgen. I am now on hour 40 of fasting to “reboot” before going back to how I was eating the last year. But oddly, I am not hungry (though my tummy is making some remarkable noises at times), which I thought I surely would be after reintroducing carbs and sugar on and off. Odd. Did I do something right? Was it just a fluke? Maybe it is all mental! Ha!

Maybe you are just like this. I am good with fasting, if I manage to avoid eating without hunger (super rare, I don’t have that kind of attitude and willpower), I often am pretty satiated after 40 hours, no matter my actual diet. My fasting abilities were similar at high-carb. Eating and its effect was different.
Not everyone feels bad eating more carbs again either… So it’s normal for many.

Same here. Although I kept to IF (18/6), I did break keto by having a lot more carbs then I would normally… usually in the form of homemade baked goods and craft beer (love hoppy beers!).

I wanted to reset as well and fasted for about 64 hours. My stomach was uncharacteristically growling during day 1, was a little light headed at one point, but after the first 36 hours I was back in keto according to urine strips and feeling fine, not hungry at all.
