Possible BPC butter/coconut oil alternative- Coffee Cheese

(brian) #1

Saw this post in a New England Cheese Making newsletter. I’ve never heard of coffee cheese before, but might give it a try since it seems like a very easy cheese to make.

NE cheesemaking has a lot of recipes on their site. My wife and I took their into to cheese making class last year. It was great.

Far out! (Plus, bonus, a whole cheese website to wander around in)

They’ve been good to me. Consider this an endorsement.

I wish I were paid

More animal rennet arriving tomorrow. I have about 3 pounds of cheddar that I’m about to take out of my crawl space in a few weeks.

I would accept port wine marbled sharp cheddar in three pound wheels but that’s just me.

Not sure about that  hah

I highly recommend Kaffeost.

It was one of my early recipes on the podcast and almost the easiest cheese to make

Love NE Cheese Making - I ordered a kit several years ago, and was amazed at just how easy it is. I think I’ll restock soon & start making my own again. Thanks for the reminder!

Wow, with a year of :carl: and :richard: podcast episodes I didn’t remember even though I’ve listened to them all! Thanks for the reminder! BTW, Just started listening to the anniversary show on the commute in and can’t say thanks enough to you both for creating the podcast!

Definitely going to make of this coffee cheese soon.

It was on the Cancer show with @coderush

Does the cheese completely melt into the coffee, or do you drink the coffee and then eat the cheese with a spoon?

(Richard Morris) #11

The cheese floats it is mostly fat after all. You can eat it off the top. It doesn’t melt. It just softens a little.

Any Australians wanting to do a cheese making course - I can recommend cheeselinks.com.au
I have taken a couple of classes with them and buy a lot of my raw materials from them.

Julie gets her cultures and cheese hoops from CheeseLinks.com.au ( they are very welcome to advertise sponsor.2keto.com )

She just made some fresh cows milk Feta today for me to take to breckenridge next week.
