Pizza base sauce recipe wanted - help

(Paul McLaughlin) #1

Hi, I’ve made a few Carlshead pizzas but struggle with getting a suitable keto friendly sauce for the base.

As I’m in the Uk, can’t seem to find a shop based solution and would appreciate if anyone can help with a recipe.

Thanks

I use Philadelphia with garlic and herbs and dollops of pesto instead of tomato based sauce. Very tasty. The m&s pesto is the lowest carb I’ve found.
Here was mine from last night.

I get regular jarred spaghetti sauce (I use Rao’s) and I cook it in a frying pan to cook off some of the excess liquid and when its thickened, I use it as pizza sauce. You could also add in additional spices to the sauce as it thickens like italian herbs, garlic, or onion powders. Whatever additional spices you like.

I use Rao’s as well, and it’s the lowest net carbs sauce I’ve found yet. Have tried 3 types so far, and like them all. Marinara Sauce, Roasted Garlic and the Pizza Sauce. (Not sure just how many they make, but have seen quite a few.) They carry 3 at Foodlion near me, but can always order others from Amazon.

8-10 net carbs per jar.

I use this on my chicken thigh pasta base… it’s kind of Italian tomatey flavour so works well with cheese and meat and it’s also quite a strong tasting paste so you don;t need very much to get that tomato flavour…

Here is a good recipe, make large batch and freeze some for use later. Just as handy as a jar.
