Physically not wanting to eat after a fast

Hi Everyone… First time on here. I have a question about not wanting to eat very much after a 78 hour fast. It is 4 days since I ended my 78 hour fast and I have a hard time eating very much. Suppose to be eating 60 grams of protein a day and not coming even near that. I eat about half a serving of a meal and I don’t want anything else. I feel like I have a sour stomach after I eat. Had to take ACV to not feel so nauseated. i have never had any issues before. I had decent energy during fast until last day, and I have had low energy, compared to my normal higher energy still since last day of fast. Started serious Keto on Feb. 5th as I was on & off low carb before then. I started 4 day fast one week later. Even on low carb I did 3 day fasts no problem. Is this normal symptoms?

I don’t think you should be doing extended fasting, until you are fat adapted. Probably at least 6 weeks of strict keto WOE. so your metabolism is switched over and utilizing the ketones. I’m no expert, but have seen it explained like this before.

I’m older, I became fat-adapted at five months.

I’m puzzled why your appetite has not come back. The lower energy might be a sign of your body compensating from the lack of metabolized fuel, which can come from diet or from body fat when you are properly fat adapted. It’s possible that stress might be affecting your lack of hunger or maybe even a flu bug or cold?

Did you lose any weight during this fast? And do you have lot of fat to lose? If you didn’t lose any weight, I’m going to guess that your metabolism is just a little wonky and hopefully it rights itself soon.

I lost 4 lbs in 4 days, which stayed off plus lost another pound in 4 days after fast. I have about 65 lbs to lose… down a total of 34 lbs in last year of on/off low carb.

Ok then it’s possible you are fat adapted. Maybe not try to push your fast as long next time. Maybe stick to 48 hours?

In the meanwhile, I would suggest things that go easy on the stomach like cotttage cheese, greek yogurt, chicken/vegetable soup or bone broth.

Hope you feel proper real soon.
