On the mend, keto flu

(Yvonne Cuenin) #1

I am really sick getting sick of eggs. I am finishing up on week 2 and I lost in the first week 2 lbs and 2 " in the waist. I was wondering w+y there was so much food them I realized I was making the recipes for the amount of servings that was showing.Didn’t know you could change it. Maybe now that I know this I might lose weight. Lol.

Lol good one

Always something new to learn. It’s like re-learning how your body works when you actually feed it properly.

Nice milestone to be getting past the keto flu. KCKO.

I haven’t had coffee in a week and OMG I didn’t sleep for 22 hour. Is this normal ?

Hey, can we call it “carb withdrawal” instead? Sounds better and it more accurate. (I’m going to make this into a macro as I try to change our perceptions

People often find that their energy increases significantly on a ketogenic diet. Not sleeping for 22 hours does seem a bit extreme, however.

BTW, you might find it helpful to focus more on your clothing size as a gauge of progress, rather than what the scale is telling you. Women sometimes put on muscle mass, even while losing fat, and this can confuse your scale. As long as your waistline is shrinking, you know you’re doing it right. Also, women tend to lose more irregularly than men do, because of their more complicated hormonal situation. (I tell you, I don’t know how you ladies cope! I don’t think most men are nearly as tough as you are.) My point is, don’t be discouraged if you appear to stall, or if results don’t seem consistent. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Before I went Keto, I used to drink coffee every day, all day and year around. - I actually stopped drinking any the day I started. Since then, I have had maybe 3 cups? … Not that I wanted to stop, but went pretty much just water to give this WOE the best chance to work the best.

I will still drink some, but for now, just the occasional cup works.

I couldn’t do keto if I had to give up coffee.

To (mis)quote Charlton Heston: They’ll have to pry my coffee mug from my cold, dead hands.
