New to keto - so far so good

Hello!

Stats I bothered to check -
Starting weight: 205lb
Current weight: 195lb
Height: 5’3"
BMI: 34.4

I started Keto a few weeks ago after a lot of research. I have quite a few issues which affect what I can eat and do. I have no gallbladder due to massive failure in 2015. I can’t eat leafy greens or most green veggies because they trigger my chronic kidney stones. I have hypothyroidism and PCOS. And Fibro which I manage with sleep medications.

Last fall I stopped taking metformin as the side affects were too much. I also developed an eating problem which my docs are still trying to diagnose but basically if I eat more than two small meals or one large meal a day, regardless of what it is I have horrible pain and vomiting. Fun. I’m also very rarely hungry, so i recognize I might not be eating enough but there it is. I needed something and help me lose weight.

Doing the research I found it was recommended that I eat all fat with citrus or something acidic. That’s not hard to add to this, and I had been doing it already for my gallbladder issues. For my thyroid I need carbs and I’ve been carb loading using potatoes or sweet potatoes every sixish days.

Daily I’ve been:
Bullet Tea with Ghee(MTC oil is super expensive, so I haven’t touched it)
After 12pm - one meal. This week is harissa chicken or chicken francase w/o the breadcrumbs
After 5pm - one meal if I don’t feel sick, usually beef or eggs

I don’t normally snack. So far, I’ve lost 10lbs since I’ve started. I’m not active. Besides being a programmer, I’m severely limited physically. I do some very light yoga right now. I’m hoping to up that if I can get down to about 170.

Goal is 140.

Things I’m not worried about: blood sugar, I don’t generally have a problem with this. the Met was strictly for the PCOS cyst management, but I’ve since moved to a BC that seems to be doing the job instead. My thyroid has been stable on Levo for a year so I feel good there.

And finally a question: Is drinking more than one bullet proof tea/coffee advisable? I like the taste (I drink a ginger tea because of my stomach, so I don’t usually do coffee right now) but I don’t want to over do it.

Welcome, I can’t advise you about the bullet proof coffee because I never did have them. Are you asking in relation to caffeine content or how it will effect weight loss or ketosis?

Mostly if it will adversely affect weightloss and ketosis.

Will it affect being in ketosis…shouldn’t. It’s all fat. Will it affect weight loss…yes. It will either create a weight gain, stable weight, or weight loss. Only you can find out what you’re limits are with self experimentation. As a general rule though, the more fat you can get from your body for fuel as opposed to dietary fat, the quicker the weight loss happens. Keep in mind however that you have to be fat adapted in order for this to happen. This usually takes time. Don’t force a calorie deficit in the beginning. Have at it. Eat. You’ll know when you’re adapted because you won’t be as hungry and you’ll start skipping meals and/or bulletproof coffees or both. Listening to your body and feeding it when it’s hungry is my best advice.
