Hi everyone.

I’m fairly new to keto and started on the 1st July.

I have been logging everything on a macro app and can honestly say I am really enjoying it. I have never been hungry, I still eat things I like and feel miles better.

I’m 6ft 4 and I started 20st 3.4lb and after two weeks (my next weigh in is on Tuesday) I have lost just over 12lbs. Although not hugely fat I have become really self conscious about the fat that I have.

I am hopefully joining a local gym in the week which will help build up muscle also.

As I said I am keeping to my macros, well not quite the fat element as I don’t seem to be able to eat the amount I am supposed to be having without going over my protein

I’ll hopefully keep active on here as I have a few questions to ask to try and make sure I get to my target.

Thanks

Dan

Welcome Dan. Congratulations on your loss so far. Good luck with your next weigh in and keep posting.

Thank you.

Next weigh in is tomorrow. I believe I’m past the 14lb mark maybe even into the 18stone which would be amazing.

Hi Dan, I’m next door in Surrey. Been keto since December with a few blips, and strictly since May. I feel brilliant and just getting to fasting so feeling like I’m getting fat adapted. It’s amazing to not be addicted to sugar anymore.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Hope it continues to go well for you.

Thanks squidgy

I’m amazed by the amount of people on here so I know I must be doing something right.

I was pretty lucky when I was early 20s as I could eat everything and it never had an effect on me.

The late 20s were different and I was pretty static as far as exercise was. I had no energy whatsoever when I got in in the evening and never felt like doing anything. Sit down, eat dinner and then just sit and watch tv, normally with a snack or two.

I hadn’t been too bad recently however whenever I popped to the shops or got a treat dinner for the kids I’d ultimately get something for myself to eat on the way home.

Sounds ridiculous writing all that out after doing this for a few weeks but now I feel miles better. Still fairly exhausted when I get in from work but I think that is more work than anything.

Looking to join the gym Thursday. As I can do a couple of nights a week when I take my kids to their classes.

I’m sure that’ll help more and more as I go.

Thanks for the encouragement it’s great being on here knowing you’re not alone and can ask questions.

My three week weigh in today - 14.4lbs

I’m so proud of getting that fat so quickly. The last week was only just over 2lb so a bit slower however, 2lb a week for the next few months and I’ll be happy.

Hi Dan, try not to get hung up on the numbers.

Weightloss is not linear and there is no reason to expect it to continue at any particular rate. Concentrate on the general downward trend and rejoice in the healthy feeling that this way of eating gives you.

Thank Polly

Yeah I’m not too downhearted about it. I’m happy with anything at the moment. Plus adding the gym to the mix later in the week I will feel the benefits much more.
