Annie, recipe for the blue cheese??
My son just started. Do his macros look good?
1/3 cup blue cheese crumbs. Heat to melt in sauce pan, stirring continuously so not to burn.
Fold in 1/3 cup sour cream and 1/3 cup HWC. Simmer for a few minutes to thicken.
Then poor over delicious meat. I did pork chops, but I bet it would go great with beef too.
Yes, absolutely. He said he already feels a lot better without all the carbs. I hope he learns from this!
Thank you for your reply! Should he try to eat more during meals? He’s not hitting his calories on his app.
No. Not initially, and probably not for a long time. If he becomes sated during a meal, stop. Save it for the next meal, or if he eventually becomes hungry between meals. Going by the signals from your body beats a subjective calculator any day. I felt that way for two years.
Remember, you get a leptin response when your body breaks down fat, both dietary and stored.
Oh, ok. That seems really reasonable. And simple.
I need to stop overthinking this. I just worry to much. I ended up taking his blood pressure because he was so jittery and sweaty. It was 114/72. So I’m assuming it’s from the diet. We need to look up leptin response.
May I recommend an amazing 0 carb flax bread I created that is usable regardless of bulking or cutting?
Also I would support going long periods between meals as that’s were the magic happens regardless of losing weight or trying to gain it. In the since of losing weight your body depletes glycogen and ramps up ketones while fasting and as for bulking your GH hormone levels sky rocket and as long as you ate a giant meal prior hand you can stay anabolic while burning fat!
An update. My son has lost about 50 lbs. He feels great. He’s still eating OMAD and is never hungry. He wants to lose about 40-50 more.
Three months ago, my mom had her physical and came back with an A1c of 7.2. She told me to make a list of the foods she can eat and how to prepare them. She doesn’t have a computer or internet access. I just typed up something simple and easy she can follow and not have to track anything. She had her follow up this week and her A1c is now 5.8. Everything else, blood pressure and cholesterol, came back normal as well. She wasn’t having any issues with them before. She also lost about 15 lbs. She’s always had issues with ibs symptoms. They’re completely gone. Issues with arthritis. Now there’s no more pain. She’s thrilled with the results and plans to eat likes this from now on.
It’s been amazing to see what food can do for the body!
