Is this where I share my secret of exercising to the extended versions of Donna Summer This Time I know It’s For Real (aerobic) and The Smiths How Soon Is Now? (Yoga) :grinning:

LoL, exactly. My list definitely dates me. I don’t even know what is considered rock if there is such a thing now adays. My wife and kids listen to top 40 stuff on the radio, and I only hear R&B songs on it.

No one knows and being I work from home/live alone I can jump around, then pose, with abandon haha

Seriously though music is crucial. It makes exercise fun, but also does something to the psyche. At anytime I get earworm from those songs (like right now!) and want to work out when the melodies flow through my mind. When I finally do get to exercise, I excited from the first beat haha

Good suggestions there!

Here is a Calisthenics Music Play list. Not something I generally want to listen to because I enjoy it, but something that seems to flow well with Calisthenics, so it is used by most on youtube, etc. So, it seems to motivate me while I’m working out. It uses something they call Trap Music now. When I was in college they used to call it Rave Music or House music, I think it’s the same type of stuff.

Sweet n Dandy (Toots & the Maytals)

I’ve also made some more up-to-date and possibly more energetic mixes, about 2.5 hours each, on Spotify. Each mix includes Latin (merengue, reggaeton, bugaloo, modern tango), ska, oldies, punk, s—kicker, rockabilly, Bakersfield, surf guitar, etc., plus maybe a couple of slower songs I threw in. If anyone has a Spotify account and would like me to “share,” please let me know.

If you like Latin music (reggaeton, merengue, salsa, bachata, and/or cumbia), I recommend DJ Latino’s and DJ Lobo’s mixes (downloadable online).

I also recommend two double albums, full of high energy music:

Fulanito: “Greatest Hits” (merengue with a modern twist)
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” (if you like bluegrass)

Thank you for the lovely tribute, Troy! I’m sure we all lost at least 5 lb each, just typing out our lists.

Can you believe I never even used to like music? When I had to work at places where they played the radio all day it was like torture. Now I’m a conno . . . conni . . . I’m in the know!
