Hi again, May Fasters. I popped in last night but was too tired to finish the thread and post. There seems to be a lot of bumps in the road this month. I have been a bit more “relaxed” myself.

I love this! That is how I’ve been starting my recent fasts. Just skip one day and see how I feel. It’s a mental game for me. Since my last meal is usually around 4pm, I just tell myself I’m going to bed in a few hours and I can rack up some big fasting hours that does my body good. Then I see how I feel the next day. For me, it has taken the stress out of planning longer EFs.

I hope I don’t sound irritatingly over enthusiastic but after more than 9 months I just keep loving this woe more and more. I’m going to blame it on (give credit to) the ketones. :slight_smile:

That’s it exactly, no stress. Today I’m eating after breaking my fast this morning, and tomorrow if I’m not so hungry, I’ll fast again and just carry on like that… :slight_smile:

Hello fasters,

Woke up early again after 24+ hrs fasting. I do that. Humm! Usually I’m not tired in the day. I hope today is like that as well.

BG 90 mg/dl - still holding on to so dawn affect but I’ll take 90 over 120 to 130
BHB 1.2 mmol/dl
GKI 4.2
BOZ 75

My ketones don’t vary much from 0.9 to 1.3 mmol/dl.

Going to use the rowing machine soon to burn out some of my BG. I’m pretty confident in fasting all day since I’m now practicing for longer fasts for autophagy.

New pants I bought maybe 3 weeks ago are loose now. Not so loose to replace but progress. New belt bought in February now on the 4th notch.

Yesterday I had two associates tell me that I look great. One said that it was obvious I was also working out.

I hope you all make your goals this week for fasting but please listen to your body. There is always next week.

nearing 24h soon. slight headache but that might just be hormonal. Not hungry at all which is great… to busy to get hungry anyway

After 24+ hrs I find that falling asleep is slower and I rise sooner. But I usually don’t feel tired. Tonight I expect sleep to be better.

I’m happy for you that the first 24hrs were easy.

I was awoken by my husband’s snoring and him falling asleep with the television on at 11 p.m. I went to bed at 9 feeling pretty tired after a fairly physical day. I tried to go back to sleep but no such luck. I moved to the couch, tossed and turned another couple of hours. I think I finally fell back asleep around 2 a.m. Intended to get up at 5 but didn’t get up until 7:30. Now I lack motivation but I have a 3 mile treadmill run scheduled and some leg work. Ugggggggh. Come on coffee, work your magic.

Giving the eff up on the 48h for now :neutral_face: after yet another day of “nope”.
Due to my obsessiveness my new inability to go past 24h without discomfort has been my focus for…2 weeks now. Though I did it week before last, I then lapsed back into not doing it.

Reviewing all factors in play I must conclude that at this low weight/bmi/fat pct there is biochem based resistance happening. Yesterday I actually got a headache (the hunger kind) right around hour 24. This never happens.

Now dig this. I am eating A LOT. Day before yesterday I had: 20 oz bacon, two eggs and prob…6 pickle spears (almost “carnivore” has been my gig for awhile)
Yesterday, 16oz bacon, two jumbo franks, small amt sauerkraut and few pickle spears

Why the heck I need so much food at this small size and as sedentary as I am has to mean my metabolism is ramping up? But for it to do so as I decrease in size makes no sense?

So as continued failure every freaking day to stick to my 48h plan is starting to really bother me I shall abandon that plan, for the moment and see what I weigh on May 30th (nest weighing day) and adjust after that. If same weight (116) I will then have to switch up again, I suppose.

How about adding a little fat in your fast? Bulletproof coffee or something? What exactly is your goal when fasting?

@Hardrock_keto_chick goal is to spur losses, it heretofore worked great for that. I would always sustain the loss too.
I could add more easy but surely the fat in 20oz bacon is sufficient, I was thinking.

If I haven’t lost when I weigh on the 30th that’ll be telling; as in biochemically my system resists going any lower in weight, would be the inference?

Lifting workout this morning-- using up any wonky rice derived energy from the weekend. Hopefully I will stop feeling so bloated as well, Last night was the first time in weeks and weeks I felt inflamed and almost fell into a migraine. Some starches just do not agree with me in any way right now. will check GKI when I am home later today.

Currently still planning on a 72 hour fast starting this eve until Friday. Feeling apprehensive and it hasn’t even happened yet! lol, sigh.

I was more thinking of adding it on fasting days when you struggle, to push it a little further. Some consider 500 cal days to be fasting… might just be a way to mix it up a little?

okay. Pure fat usually helps me. personally as long as I stay away from Butter. Coconut oil and cacao butter for example are always good options for me. Other foods do trigger me too though (bonebroth is no good unfortunately)

I’m actually really starting to enjoy the empty stomach feeling. I don’t feel hungry half the time now. It’s weird before Keto I would think that meant I’m hungry. Now I wait until I truly feel hunger to eat. Next week I’m going to start my feasting fasting schedule! Super excited about taking on longer fasts I finally feel comfortable with it!

Almost 18 hours in and feeling ok for now. A bit hungry when I went to bed last night but not really hungry today. Sipping my salted coffee and enjoying the empty feeling.

I tested my BK last night and got “Lo”. I thought - well, I guess I overdid the carbs more than I thought! Got the same reading this morning and then I realized I had a new bottle of strips and it comes with the chip to calibrate my meter. It’s been so long since I had to do that I forgot as 50 strips last me a long time since I only test when fasting.

I re-checked and 0.7 this morning so much better LOL.

About 42 hrs in and past the noon hunger time. I think I can take this to morning at least at ~60 hrs. When I get that far I might as well take it home to 70ish. Will leave work a hr early to break fast before dinner time. I find the afternoon and evening hours easier for some reason.

So, I did the daytime OMAD all last week, and have to say I do like how the evenings seem much more open for doing things, like whilst Fasting. … But can’t say I’m a big fan of having to re-heat all hot meals though. But it’s that or just stick with cold-only meals? Which though doable, I do probably eat more hot meals in comparison? … But when my wife asked me if I wanted to bring last night’s leftovers for today, I said no thank you, not thinking I was still doing the daytime OMAD’s. :smile: - So I guess I will go ahead and do some Fasting instead. :slight_smile: So I’m just about 18 hrs in presently.

At about 19 hours and all of these nice posts above are SO helpful. Reminded me to enjoy where I am and my salted coffee. Will go about 22hours today, feed, then start next longer fast tonight.
Also feeling as though I have recovered from the weekend-induced bloats - yay.
