March 2026 IF/EX fasting

You’re influencing me to go get a ketone meter. From Feb. 16th to March 6th my morning blood sugar varied from a low of 102 to a high of 114. That was always first sit down after getting out of bed, so fasted, usually more than 10 hours fasted, with no more than an accidental teaspoon of coffee. It would be interesting to compare ketones and sugar.

The Hume, or something like it, is another measuring device that keeps calling me.

We ran out of strips, so I haven’t measured mine in a bit, but I could smell them this morning at the toilet after my breakfast. I eat goat yogurt every morning, which seems to give me enough ketone boost that I end up peeing out some - enough to smell anyway. So, right now I seem to be back on the right track, but next week will probably be my last week of OMAD, then it’s back to 2MAD low carb.
I have to say overall I am happy with my Hume, as it gives me a much better idea if I going in the right directions. It is much easier to measure muscle gain while trying to lose fat, which is what I wanted. Mine is a bit picky though, and sometimes I have to do 3 or 4 reads to finally get one completed. You can often get them around $183 at “50%” off from their website, but I got mine new off eBay around $163, and there are several listed now - here’s the cheapest “new” one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/406770159713?_skw=hume+body+pod&itmmeta=01KM3QFXCK15NRC6ZP08TWKFEY&hash=item5eb5641061:g:Y8YAAeSwpDhptuO8&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xAlP2eoflBYV0%2Fuy0OTJupyrwJhR%2FkEwca3ETQ6f0fyoePdn2O%2BUq5UStsOz7HV9mz9XbYq%2BlojQ892T3gjXAw0%2F7mQinpeD2jeNnQ4B0j2qbcZgnQCcDx17BZe7e5KfisXEYRxHR93AXEhsNWuJ50gFnj4%2BrAvNMKOFtnXoq%2Bp%2BYDg9Y499bW6W0lmQbJ5Q2UDU9Af0OjFRRa8u66hXBvZqsB9HQQyu6gKUxR%2B4LfIF%2FO2CbAZhPAAdotF1SxwI2DTRiS7GJdxK9bjtp7MJyoNboWksxG8ZNZHFEKHG87F5A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4rXv_egZw
