Low-carb high-protein slip-up. Ate carbs this weekend

(JT Newell) #1

I hit a bump on the road last weekend: I got thrown off track and ate foods with carbs. Sunday at lunch I had a HUGE Calzone and a slice of pizza, as well as soda and sweets. What do I do to not repeat that?

Plan your meals a day ahead of time and stick to your plan. I think if I am asking myself what do I want to eat when I am around unhealthy food, I’m more likely to make the wrong choice.

What was the motivation?

Were you hungry?
Was it social pressure?

(Chris) #4

Um, don’t eat it again.

Willpower! Think about how you have worked so hard to limit carbs and the problems they create. I use this to get past things like when I order a burger without the bun and they bring it or if I forget that fries come with it. I can now eat without touching a single one but I do catch myself reaching toward them out of habit.

You can have all the calzones and pizzas you want tomorrow—just not right now. Don’t swear off carbs forever, just have as little as possible in the moment.
