Losing a little on Keto?

Hey all - been tracking people’s transformations and I’m just like WOW!! I am 34 yrs old, happily married and have two beautiful babies (3-1/2yr old daughter, 1 yr old son). I had always been relatively thin but in my 20’s started gaining weight and it wasn’t dropping off.
I am 5’4" and before keto (May 1st) was 135lbs. Since starting keto, I’ve dropped to 131.8lbs but I’m fully aware this is just water weight.
My goal is 120lbs because I haven’t been under 125lbs in about 10 years.
I’m wondering if anyone has had success in losing this low weight because from what I have read, it gets harder when you have less to lose.

Hi Susie.

This is certainly true. However, there are many benefits to keto that don’t involve weight loss. Reduced inflammation, consistent all day energy, properly behaving hormones, control of your hunger and cravings and better mental and physical health are all worth the price of admission.

That’s not to say you can’t or won’t lose weight with LCHF. I’m just saying that even if you don’t, you won’t be disappointed if you realize how much the quality of your life has improved.

I lost rapidly until I got to 126; then slowly to 122 then stopped.
Most definitely harder when smaller.

I had to drop all veg and cheese to start losing again; I went quick to 118 now am 116. Goal is 110.

You’re already a reasonable, healthy size so you may have to limit cheese, nuts and veg to lose. I’m going to add cheese back just weekly when at goal weight, I miss it dearly :cheese:

I’m 5’4” and started at 135 as well. I’ve been 110 since around October. What’s funny is they say keto really is a weight normalizing diet. That is so true because 110 was always my normal adult weight (eating whatever I wanted to) until things went haywire during menopause. All my blood markers improved as well. The answer turned out to be so simple!
