A good reminder. Thank you
Last 5-10lbs, motivation, mindset, giving up, bingeing, etc
Thank you. I did fall into the trap of the scale and calorie counting too much. I did take measurements at one point but because of some cheat days and hiccups, stopped. I should do it again. Fasting! I shall continue fasting regimes. and patience! Yes!
Just want you to know that I’m in a similar spot to you. For whatever reason, I have had some binging episodes despite being within spitting distance of a healthy weight. This week, it has helped to go back to the basics and simple keto. I have redoubled my resolve and am trying to approach it all with a fresh attitude. It’s helped a lot!
I wish you all the best!
Hi Leslie
When I started keto the second time around I got carb flu badly. For two weeks I was very lethargic, headaches and I felt poorly. Came here to the forum and read about salt requirements. When I increased my salt my symptoms went away I felt so much better. What I didn’t realize is I would ALWAYS need a !east a teaspoon of salt daily. Early April just last week got that run down feeling again along with the headaches and tiredness. So I took a couple of days off and made sure I supplemented my salt. I carried it with me in each in each purse. Today I am feeling like me again. So now I will not forget a teaspoon of salt plus whatever is on my food daily. Now regarding your ankles someone here on the fourum had a similar issue so type it in the search box.
Here’s the podcast
PS I also use about 1000 mg of magnesium citrate ( bathroom issues) and about 400mg of potassium found in lite salt.
Thank you! Good to know I’m not alone. I guess it’s good to go back and keep Keto simple and just enjoy it. Good luck! The saying stays “Keep calm and Keto on!”
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me and providing me with this link. I hope your keto journey continues to be a great experience
I just read the book Refuse to Regain! It helped me sooooo much. It was a recommendation by someone here who has lost tons of weight on keto and is now maintaining that weight loss for a long time. I am in the same boat as you. Have about 5 lbs to lose.
I quit eating dairy and nuts and eat 2 nice keto meals a day and fast for the rest of the day.
The scale is moving in the right direction too!
The doctor who wrote the book says you can’t give up and just hope for the best! you have to do the work and be serious about it.
Let me know what you think of the book! I devoured it in a day.
Oh and I upped my exercise too. Not crazy exercise but a nice walk, bike ride or yoga.
Take a look at Gardengirlkp’s profile. She has a blog and she is who inspired me BIG TIME!
I know it’s easier said than done, but… don’t worry about what other people think of your appearance. It’s been my experience in most gyms that people are generally supportive. If they see that you’re there working hard to make a positive change then they will be right behind you!
If you have any compression-wear you might try wearing that during your workout. It may help the skin tighten up more quickly too.
A very low volume of training with a single exercise might work very well for you.
I’m not sure if Tim gets into the training volume in that post, but it’s absurdly low. 1 set, 75 reps, Monday and Friday (or multiple sets to get to 75 reps).
Since you have not done much in the way of exercise, nearly anything should show some improvement. I highlight this, as it’s not terribly complicated, and can be done in about half an hour a month.
Sounds like a good read. I’ll check it out. Oh my, I don’t know if I could give up dairy. I love cheese. But… I never thought I could give up sugar, and I did. So who knows? Thank you for sharing!
How is it going with the last 10lbs?
I’m in the same boat as you, and I’m impatient :/…
How is it going with your last 10lbs? I’m in the same boat and patience is a town in Russia…
haha thanks for asking. I’ve lost 4 pounds since this conversation 28 days ago. The body recomposition is actually going great, but slow. Strength muscle building, rest of belly fat being replaced with unknown objects! (Ab muscles).
Skin hang but really not much. Its more local than hanging and the stubborn fat still there, bit really not much.
Working out is great, food is great. It’s all working I’m feeling like I’m living in Patience, Russia!
Enjoy.
haha that’s amazing! 4 pounds in 4 weeks is good!
I just found a before and after picture and I really see how far I have come…
I just think I need to be patient and listen to my body
Thank you!
I’m still at a stall. Oh well. I’ve decided not to look at the scale and just live and eat and be merry.
