Ketogenic Bible Fast

Has anyone tried this successfully?

Eat 50% of your normal calories on day 1, 10% on day 2 and 3, and 100% for the other four days of the week. I’m a bit weirded out by the math. (E.g. two tablespoons of coconut butter is 230 calories and 10% for me would be 210), but at this point…

Short version, I’m being laid off in mid-November. To have my goal weight of 175 by the 30th of November, I’ll need to lose just over two pounds per week. Just not eating until then isn’t really an option, due to post-concussive adrenal fatigue, and every time I’ve tried in the past, something has just popped up.

This week, I’m doing it sort of crappy… until 1500 today, under 500 tomorrow, to see if I can ease into that level of caloric restriction. The idea is that this “fast mimics,” and combined with ketosis will induce a good-enough level of autophagy. (Sort of like how the 3/12 flexitarian in “The End of Alzheimer’s” says it can, even though it’s nearly the most liberal time-restricted feeding I’ve seen next to “no snacking”).
