A chain called Le Peep has a fall special menu item. Wafflette is what they call it, a chaffle by another name I reckon. No flour, eggs, cheese, spices, small ham cubes cooked on a waffle iron, served with sour cream and a side of hollandaise sauce. The two together is really good.
Keto in the Wild: Wafflette
Yes, I was so excited, they have done gluten free stuff in the past but used other grains in the recipes.
Not only does this place have this, another spot near us has an item that is 3 eggs, any style, with your choice of a large selection of meats, I stop reading at bacon, so donāt remember them all, and a side of cottage cheese. Doesnāt get much more keto than that. So I have to great options nearby for when I do decide to eat breakfast.
So, eggs, cheese, spices, and ham cooked on a waffle iron? Sounds great.
Very difficult to find anything like that where I live.
Thanks for bring this thread back up. The place that did these closed during Covid era. I will have to make one of those from scratch. Had forgotten about it.
Oh please share when youāve mastered a good recipe. Iād love to try it, especially with hollandaise!
You know, this is one of those threads that looked like it was new. (I sort by ālatestā, and every once in a while, there are old threads there. Not sure why.) Thatās why I responded to it.
That is too bad they went out of business though. Where I live, thereās basically nothing like that.
Search the forumās recipes, lots of chaffle recipes in there.
I often do a chaffle with toppings of berries or small ham cubes. Berries are my favorite topping it turns out. We grow a lot of raspberries so I eat those almost exclusively.
