Have you found a decent tasting bar that is Keto-friendly for emergencies (stranded without Keto foods around)? A friend is a fan of Perfect Keto Bar, which looks to have “real” ingredients and a good macro ratio.
Keto-friendly bars?
There are plenty of good emergency foods that are not manufactured “keto” products. Seriously I don’t want to encourage the development of keto convenience snack food from the industrial folks who brought us Cheetos, Doritos and granola bars. I have read a few labels and found they aren’t usually as “keto” as the name implies. I’m not familiar with the ones that you mentioned. Good emergency keto foods without refrigeration might be canned sardines or tuna, low carb jerky or sausages, nuts, or pork rinds. A ziplock of Cooked bacon in your purse!
In addition to what David said, they have these new little packs of snack sized olives. Though you could make your own with snack baggies.
I know that’s not responsive to your particular question though. I don’t do bars since my body doesn’t play well with sugar alternatives.
Sorry, @Karen_T but I third this notion. Our bodies are resilient and can thrive for days without food. At least for myself, any time I’m inclined to feel the need to eat in a way a bar would satisfy, it’s an emotional, not physiological impulse.
Sigh, that said, I have to show my doctor some love. Honestly, I’ve never had one, but these products bear Dr. Westman’s inscrutable imprimatur. At least it’s a legit answer to your question.
Sure, I’ll own it. <puffs chest out> Dr Westman’s IN DA HOUSE.
Raw macadamia nuts. All manufactured foods can be way off label due to gaming the system.
Though we are all mammals, there’s a HUGE difference between male and female physiologies, and between people’s stress levels in general. So, I think it’s important to recognize that - being that @Karen_T asked a valid Q about decent tasting bars, specifically!!! There are circumstances when fasting may not be preferable - high cortisol is not very conducive to fasting sometimes, esp in females - plus keto newbies may not naturally fast till the 6 month point or longer, etc etc. Also, snacking on low protein or non-animal protein isn’t nearly as energizing as a decent serving of quality protein w/ some fat.
For extenuating circumstances and on-the-go times of stress - as well as to have on hand to possibly help someone else - I have found some keto friendly bars I really like. Julian Bakery in California makes keto friendly organic bars with super high quality ingredients grassfed beef at 20g per bar some good fat, and very low carbs - the choc mint is really strong on the mint (too much for some palates, but goes great with cream cheese for extra fat), and the peanut butter is peanutty (though peanut is a legume and many ketoers avoid peanuts, the peanuts just add flavor to the bar). They call them “Paleo Thin” bars.
I’ve bought them on Amazon after searching through many others and reading ingredients and reviews - the 20g of grassfed animal protein is fabulous and hard-to-find in a bar. It’s a goodly amount of high quality protein for the brain - way more than a few pieces of bacon or jerky provides.
(JB also has other bars that use average grainfed collagen and industrial eggs, but they’re not really ‘real food’ in my worldview if I can avoid it).
I like having them for ‘emergency’ stash in the house and vehicle - they hold up real well, aren’t nearly as vulnerable to spoilage as nuts. (In fact, they’re hard to chew in winter unless prewarmed on a dashboard). Amazon also sells some artisanal pemmican, but it’s super expensive so haven’t explored it. Someday I hope to make my own, but for now, the grassfed beef bars from Julian Bakery are a WIN in my book - I also keep tins of sardines stored, though they’re only for true emergencies as I don’t like them unless hidden in some great big Italian dish.
Thanks for the recommendation. I know, I should not rely on a bar for nutrition, but I am still a newbie and like having an emergency stash just in case.
I got a case of Perfect Keto bars when they came out and I thought they were bloody awful. To much sweetener. Luckily Mom liked them enough to finish them off.
I do get Atkins M&Ms for her and the other Atkins candies and occasionally throw a package in my bag when I have to teach or gig over a mealtime.
Other possibilities are cheese sticks, nuts, jerky or those little sausage sticks (or fat bombs). I find it’s never good to be in the position of feeling hungry and having no recourse!

Good luck!
Anything ‘meal replacement’ is full of crap in my eyes.
It’s not too hard to boil some eggs and throw em in the fridge/cooler back for those moments. Think outside the box. Anything Keto can be a snack.
But not a snack that delivers decent animal protein and lasts well in a hot weather car for an emergency kit, alas. Tinned sardines do, but I don’t really like 'em!
Tuna and Salmon sound better indeed esp with some kind of mini jar of mayo. The powdered grassfed beef bars work out cheaper and easier for me at the moment.
I’ve had a few quest bars when I was in a pinch and aside from being overly sweet with an odd texture, they gave me what I wanted/needed and didn’t hurt me in the least.
I recently tried Good Fats bars and they were pretty good. I had peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie. PB was my favorite.
They would be ok in a bag or purse, but not in a hot car. They have a chocolate coating.
I’ve tried the Adapt bars. They’re a fat bomb, not a meal replacement. If you’re ok with Stevia, the taste is good. For me, the first couple of nibbles were good, but I really dislike the Stevia aftertaste, so by the third taste, I couldn’t eat any more. They’re not overwhelmingly sweet…I’m just sensitive to Stevia.
