Keto demand is blowing up!

#61

I had to finally admit to myself I was eating too much, and give it up entirely. I started eating just a little every evening, then decided to only eat on the weekends, but if you’re eating the same amount on the weekends you do during the week, what good is it?

Kept telling myself, “well, it’s better than ice cream”, but if I’m eating half the jar, is it really?

(Well, at least I wasn’t mixing it with equal portions of syrup, like when I was a teenager.)

So when this forum becomes inundated with this new generation of processed food ketoers, we’re gonna need to establish a new forum for original whole food keto eaters.

Maybe we’ll call it “whole keto forum” or “keto-in-the-raw forum”. I don’t know, help me out guys.

I’m gonna mention @carl and @richard, so they’ll have a heads up on this dilemma!

I’m sure the keto hype will die down soon enough. You know how it is with fad diets. Keto is a fad diet, right? /s

There actually is…http://certifiedketogenic.com/certified-products/

Look for products with an image of two dudes on them.:innocent:

Bloody Australian eggs! I knew I wouldn’t eat them all my life because they had something wrong with them! 0.6g in each of ours.

Then it’ll be Reddit, more specifically r/ketoaustralia.

I’ve put serving sizes into the little ziploc baggies, snack size. Then I can turn the bag inside out to get it all out, or just snip off the edge of the bag and eat it that way. Serving size is safer for me than the jar.
I also buy a ton of nuts every year after Christmas. Since most stores consider them “holiday”, they will go on clearance. Last year, I got many 2 pound bags of nuts for less than two dollars. I just place parchment and roast them I need the oven. Salt if I want, and throw them in the blender. It’s so good!

Great, leave it to the Aussies…

Can you freeze peanut butter? Then you could make little icecubetray portions that you’d have to wait to eat until they defrost. (Err, assuming you didn’t just dump the whole bag on the sink and defrost them all at once, but the psychology of that is quite different, so it might work, hard to tell

#71

Just pop it in your mouth and let it thaw. Then it would be the right portion and extended gratification.

I saw cauliflower chips the other day as well. I looked at the label cause I was curious…worse than regular tater chips. :frowning:

#73

Priorities!!!

#74

Lately I’ve also been spending all my carbs sometimes on peanuts (rather than peanut butter). But then I read how all the omega-6’s are bad for you…ugh…can’t win!

(LeeAnn Brooks) #75

You guys are assuming I have the willpower to get them portioned in the first place.

More likely it would go “one… two in the ice cube tray. A spoonful for me now wouldn’t hurt. Three in the ice cube tray. Oops, that one doesn’t look even. I’ll have to fix that by eating a smudge off the top. Wait, now one and two look high. Let’s just eat a smidge off each. Four and five in the ice cube tray. Well I just don’t think I have enough for a full 12 now. Guess I’ll just finish the rest off right now.”

WE BELIEVE IN YOU

(LeeAnn Brooks) #77

Aww, that’s nice. But your faith is misplaced.
At least when it comes to me and peanut butter.

Crackers, for crackers and cheese/summer sausage. Wisconsin, you know. I think there is money to be made by people who can produce keto friendly snacky-type stuff. I love Paola at Gnom Gnom, check out her recipe for home made cinnamon toast crunch. Super labor intensive. By the time I got to the end, my craving had passed. Happy ending, amirite?!

(Running from stupidity) #79

Have you tried aversion therapy? You know, eating three jars in an hour?

Or is this a redundant question?

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #81

Dunkin’ Ketos: doughnuts made out of mozzarella, cream cheese, and egg, deep fried in tallow, frosted with erithrytol. Hmmmm . . . . :doughnut:
