Is this normal

I have been on keto for 10 days. I started weighing 316 I am now 301. For the last two days I have had no appetite but stomach feels full. Breath is not the best . I like diet drinks but had my second since I started and tasted a real funny after taste ( never had this before) I am taking magnesium recommended at health food store , but still for the last two days have gotten cramps around my rib sandstone on foot . I think I am drinking enough water

all good signs and normal when switching to keto but 10 days is too short to arrive at the fat adoption and apetie loss but I have no knowledge to say it can not happen in 10 days.

Yes, the breath is normal. You say your stomach feels full; lots of people have trouble with constipation, especially if you are eating a lot more protein now than you used to. Be sure you take in plenty of salt, and potassium, as well, with your magnesium. They are all important.
If constipation is a problem, and adequate minerals don’t help, you could try mira-lax.

The funny taste in the diet drink might be your taste buds sharpening, and tasting the artificial sweetness.
Good luck, and hang in there!

I had the same question recently. I just started Keto a little while ago and was weirded out that I just wasn’t hungry. That had never happened to me before on any diet.

I had a few other people tell me that it was normal to not be hungry, as you aren’t eating the carbs that were causing old cravings and now your body is telling you when you are actually hungry – not just when you have a craving. It takes a lot longer to get fat adapted, but that the lack of hunger was a good sign.

I’m sorry I can’t speak to the diet soda, I don’t drink it. I do drink A LOT of water and I add some Sea Salt into it too.

Good luck on your journey and congratulations on your first steps!!!

That is an excellent sign.

I lost my taste for artificially sweetened drinks as well. I used to drink 4 or more Diet Cokes a day. The last time I had one (4 months ago) it tasted like chemicals and so I have not had one since.

For me, it’s the “not hungry” feeling that keeps me keto. It’s so freeing. Food no longer owns me.

Take it as a sign that your taste buds have awakened and diet drinks are losing their appeal. I now like a lot of foods that I didn’t like before keto and even Morton’s table salt tastes chemically to me now and I won’t touch the stuff. I encourage you to re-try things that you used to not care for, especially if they are keto friendly and good for you.

Congrats on dropping 15 pounds in 10 days.
