Howdy from Texas! My name is Sharon and I’m a carb-a-holic.

I am introducing myself after listening to ALL 152 2KD podcasts. Whew! If I were a goal-oriented person I would award myself a brownie, uh keto, point. Now that I’ve finished that, I’m able to read/write in the forums.

I’ve been eating keto since last fall. I have eaten low carb (which is really mid card) for decades but finally decided after two five-day fasts that I really needed to go keto. I had my lowest weight and best blood glucose/ketone ratio this morning after gorging myself for 2 days and fasting for 43 hours. Thank you Carl and Megan for explaining how to do that.

Encouraging news. I attended the first of 5 Keto Reset “classes” at my local Natural Grocers. Attached is a pic…what you can’t see is how many there were behind me (I’m guessing 40–50 people.) Maybe they are tired of not getting healthy eating info at the doctors office. This class is being taught by the dietitian that works at the store who has been eating keto for a while, and so far she hasn’t said anything Richard or Carl would disagree with.

So nice to meet you all.

Howdy!

You may be interested in the “Fasting Talk” podcasts if they are still available.

Lots of Dr. Fung and Megan Ramos - lots of good detail.

There is also the Dr. Fung “The Aetiology of Obesity” 6 part series on YouTube.

Welcome Sharon.

I’m sure you will like it here. Low carb people are some of the most neighborly you will find. If you have any concerns or comments do feel free to add them to the mix.

Welcome!! I’m super impressed about the class, both that a dietitian is teaching and that so many are in attendance! It definitely feels like I’m alone sometimes and there’s no way anyone with any clout knows this stuff.

Welcome Sharon!

That’s fabulous news that a Natural Grocers in Texas has keto-friendly workshops happening. And smart business, because interest is especially high these days.

Lots of us who ate “healthy & natural high carb” finding out that when midlife comes, that just means excess fat and quickening decline, etc.

Welcome!

Born and raised in Texas (mostly Houston area) but moved to Arkansas to my retirement home that I built. Except I can’t afford to retire yet so traveling a lot for my job!

I don’t miss the traffic, the weather, the hurricanes or the property taxes but I really miss the grocery stores and restaurants!
