Increasing mitochondria is a good thing. Increasing them in adipose tissue is even better. From this study IF seems to have magical powers to turn white adipose tissue slightly brown (like metabolically active brown fat) or beige as the authors say. Does this by changing the makeup of the bugs in our gut. Remember we are never eating (or not) just for ourselves but our 20 trillion friends as well.
