does any one else sleep better when they are in ketosis.?
I'm strugglin'
Nope, I never feel tired. I have to much energy. I used to sleep 8 hours a night. Now I have to force myself to go to sleep and generally only get about 4 hours before waking up wide awake and ready to go.
Make a fat head pizza. They’re really good. Have the corn dog, not really, but warm a hotdog and dip it in mustard. Drink La Croix. I know i know it taste like piss at first. I love the stuff now. Most of all, hang in there. You’re stronger than you think. If you weren’t strong, you would have pigged out on junk instead of posting on this forum!
EAT MORE FAT. And remember, a lot of this is not just physical, but mental and emotional. Not to mention BOREDOM! Make a list of things you can do to distract yourself. Play your favorite song at high volume and sing along. Call someone you really enjoy shooting the breeze with (and tell them WHY! I wager they’ll be happy to help.). Count roadkill as you drive along and think about loading that raccoon up with butter. Come in here for support. Keep good food nearby and KNOW it won’t be long before those horrible cravings subside!
If you want someone to call, say the word. I’m home and not working & I have time on my hands. I know how to talk and we can swap road stories.
I couldn’t stand la croix before Keto, and I couldn’t understand how anyone could possibly like it. Now I LOVE it. Especially the lime, mixed with a little gin.
You rock @CandyLindTX
@JayRay, you got this. The fact that you have those cravings a few days in means you’re doing it right. Just keep eating fat. Summer sausage and cured meats (salami, prosciutto, etc). They have so much fat and are so rich, it doesn’t take much to curb cravings and most markets have them in the deli area.
Mt Olive make sugar free/sweetened bread & butter pickles. They are very sweet so maybe transition off them when you can but they should get you past the hump.
didn’t do pickles… It was olives for me… while I was still adjusting and moving towards being fat-adapted I would eat an olive or two and it was enough to make me feel like I had ate more. Something about the saltiness I think.
how you doing @JayRay ?
don’t stop eating until you feel sickly full of fat, that really helps. you won’t want to eat when you are nauseated from trying to digest so much fat. that feeling goes away and the digestion becomes easier.
i know business is really good so I don’t blame you for being on the road so long but when you get home make yourself some sugar free coleslaw, it helps hit the spot for those sweet main meal cravings, it’s like having dessert for lunch.
I think the saltiness of the dill curbed my sweet tooth. Plus it’s good electrolytes.
Pecans and olives for me when I snacked
Still my “ go to “ now with my meals or OMD
