I think it may be happening

Okay, so, I’m a little over 2 months into Keto WOE. I think up until late last week, I was fooling myself or wishing myself into fat-adaptedness or into keto-adapted. But, late last week, I think I’m truly turning into fat adapted!! I have heard/read that it sometimes takes 4-8 weeks, so maybe, just maybe, it’s really happening for me? Here are some things that are different:

  • I don’t grab a few macadamia nuts to “keep me going” until my evening meal. I used to grab like 4-6 nuts if I felt a little hungry. That hunger is not there anymore, and I can go a long time between meals before I want to eat
  • My hunger is no longer the “eat or you will die” type hunger.
  • I don’t think about my delicious next keto meal anymore, or plan out what I’m going to eat for dinner

So, will give it a few more days and see for sure if my body is now happily humming along on fat.

Woo hooo! I think I’m getting there too. Hard to tell cause I’ve been ill though. Congrats! Keep up the good work.

Happy Keto Dancing Banana

(MakinBacon) #5

lol, someone needs to make one of those, but with a dancing slice of bacon, or maybe sausage.

(Dustin Cade) #6

the banana is dancing because he knows we wont eat him…

I’m definitely fat adapted, but i never pass up macadamia nuts if they’re available.

Congrats, I’ve enjoyed your posts here. Also, I don’t think fat adaption is binary. There are degrees to it even though after a tipping point it becomes much easier to enjoy.

I’ve been Keto just over 2 months and only within the last week or so have I not woken up hungry. But now I’ve gone to the extreme (for me) of not eating until after work. I like it.

Nice!

Congrats! I’ve been wondering when I’ll transition over to being fat adapted. I have been in ketosis for a few weeks and have less hunger, but I’m still registering as having ketones (pee sticks) the last I checked. I think I’ve been fully “keto” for 6 weeks now (started lowering carbs on 2 Jan).

About 1:00 now I get a TINGE of hunger. Pop a fat bomb. BOOM! Good til 4:30 when I get home. Love it!

(Kathy L) #15

& I never eat 4 or 6 -it’s always a handful! ( when I count them -it’s more like 15) !!

Think I’ll give your approach a try…it would be easy to do while at work.

Plus for me : BONUS - no lunch break!

(Stephen Price (Lythix)) #18

I skipped breakfast today (seems to happen more often these days) and then had a big breakfast lunch.
Couldn’t even finish it all. Ah so this is what eating to satisfaction is. Nice!
Put the rest in a plastic lunchbox and stuck it in the fridge for later.

this was lunch:

Lol :joy: gif?!

Ditto. You can get so much done while everyone else is carb loading up for a sleep afternoon ahead :joy:
