I missed the memo. When did "losing" become "loosing"?

First time I noticed this odd phenomenon was a year or two ago. Thought it was odd that someone would use loose or loosing when they obviously meant lose or losing. I assumed it was just coincidental similar typos.

I wonder if it’s the boulder picks up speed rolling down hill thing. But hardly a day goes by when I don’t see “loosing” at least once. Often multiple times. I spend a lot of time on keto sites. So there’s obviously a lot of “loosing” going on. :bacon::sunglasses:

If we can reverse T2D, surely we can reverse this trend!!!

People can’t spell. And auto-correct has made them not care.

Grammer police is usually not my style. But this one just seems odd to me.

This is so infuriating to me. And yes, I am the grammar police :policewoman:t4::joy::rage:

ETA: some other grammar mistakes I see too often, which cause me a great deal of stress:

“Would of” or “should of” instead of “would have” or “should have”

“Seen” instead of saw (example: “I just seen this.” No, you just SAW this.)

Mixing up “to,” “too,” and “two”

I could go on and on :sweat_smile:
