Hi there. I am planning on a 3-5 day water fast, followed by a keto diet for three weeks.

Would anyone like to join me?

Just out of curiosity are you already on a keto diet? If yes, my follow up would be why the water fast? Keto adapting is sometimes tough on people. Preceding that with fasting might just be setting yourself up for failure. I eased into Keto restricting to 50 carbs a day, then to 30 then to 20. I was hungry for a little while, but never really got the “Keto flu” people talk about.

Hey there. Thank you for your response.

I am not on keto now. I know it can be hard for a little while adjusting to keto. My own way to do it is by starting with a fast and then transitioning into a keto diet, for a period of time. I do this once, maybe twice a year. I do this to keep my eating habits in check. I always eat healthfully, for fuel, for many months after.

Are you planning a fast soon? I’d like to have another person to go through it with this time. Previously, I have always done it alone.

I watched the science of fasting and read the complete guide to fasting and then with no prep I jumped in and did a 14 day water fast. You will for sure go into forced ketosis. I think it is really mind over matter. The first two days were the hardest and by the 5th I felt terrific. I even cooked for my family. And worked out everyday. We are stronger than we know.
I say don’t let anyone scare you from trying. What is the worst thing that can happen? You can always eat if you can’t make it and there is no shame in that.

I’m planning an EF, starting this coming Saturday, March 3. I’m going to do a supervised fast, because my last fast (which was my first EF) left me feeling like death. I’d anticipated euphoria, like I hear from so many. This time I’m offloading the medical concerns to someone else. My only job will be not to eat :grin:

If you want to coordinate with me, or just keep in touch during that period if we’re both fasting, I’m game.

The one thing I could have done better when I EF the first time is to take the proper suppliments. Someone else posted this link and I think it is very useful to know what each person might be needing more of.
