I love cheese

Oprah isn’t thin. Film it now. Then do a follow up that shows your success. It would be hilarious.

I’ve been having creamcheese on my bacon every morning (or afternoon if I don’t eat in the morning), and I’ve also been melting hard cheese (supermarket brand red leicester) onto the top of my beef medallions, and steaks, and I’ve still lost weight over the last two weeks.

(Becky Searls) #23

got a Costco membership yesterday and proceeded to lose my crisp in this cheese aisle. Wow. Heaven.

Maybe since I’m not fat-adapted yet (frustrating) I need to figure out if I’m sensitive to cheese. I will experiment this week to see. Can’t give it up totally, it’s my crack, but maybe cut back… and experiment more.

thanks again all for your pics and opinions!

@MKChitown I have PCOS and it is suggested that since we have hormone issues, we shouldn’t have too much dairy unless it is from hormone free cows/goats etc. I listen to my body and I know when I need to back off of something. Listen to you body instead of the reviews of others. Trust me, we are all so very different. What works for one person may not work for another.

For now: I am a CHEESEHEAD!!

OMG Bacon Cheddar! Shopping mission accepted!

(AnnaLeeThal) #27

I wondered who would be the first to catch that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Trader Joe’s.

Cream cheese, parmesan cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, mild cheddar cheese, brie cheese…shrimp gumbo, shrimp creole, pan fried shrimp… OOOPS! Well, you get the picture!

Thanks for the location! Have not seen that at Shoprite or Costco. Closest TJ is 45 miles from here, so not a regular stop. time for a road trip!

works for me! :yellow_heart:

I have a DRAWER in my fridge JUST for cheese! It’s where the fruit used to be!!

My husband and I hang out in this isle at Costco for extended periods of time. Love it! :cheese::cheese::cheese::cheese::cheese:

Speaking of Trader Joe’s, a new item at mine is Oven-Baked Cheese Bites – basically a store bought version of the baked cheese crackers people here make.

I’ve been eating keto since October, but I have a friend who’s exploring the idea. She doesn’t eat dairy and I’m sort of at a loss for how to help her be successful with it. Cheese was definitely my go-to in the beginning. I suppose this is the wrong thread to be asking if anyone has ideas, but… does anyone have ideas for someone trying to go keto but doesn’t eat dairy? Thanks!

What do you mean by dairy? Is butter and whipped cream ok…since it doesn’t have the lactose that bothers some people.

You can entice her with bacon, too.

@bee When I started keto over 2.5 years ago, I started and continued for a year dairy free. It wasn’t a problem because I had already been dairy free. I used coconut milk and coconut products, nuts but no nut flours, veggies including avocados and, of course, lots of fatty meat, etc. I was at goal weight when I started keto (came from Whole30 which was no dairy or AS’s) but lost a few pounds when I wasn’t trying to. Tell your friend that. I’ve since introduced dairy. It does make keto easier but if you haven’t started with it, you probably won’t miss it.

(Becky Searls) #37

Amazing, thanks for sharing!!!

(Beth) #38

Actually, @Jacquie, that is a good point – since she is already dairy-free, it shouldn’t be that hard for her – I would think! She is struggling with the decision to make the switch. Thank you.

Those things are amaaaaaaazing. It’s really hard not to crush a whole bag in one sitting! Speaking from experience.

Costco has “Whisps” they are quarter sized disks of baked Parmesan cheese puff. We eat them as a snack, and also use to replace croutons for crunch in salad.
