I Have Gone Back to my Old Ways and I'm planning a carb fest!

('Jackie P') #1

I couldn’t help myself! Everything was so colourful and fresh and calling to go in my trolley!

I set to work and made a vegetable heavy ragu
That I intend to have with buttered cabbage and cheese!
Also I made a roasted pepper and tomato soup finished with cream cheese! 20190821_131106|281x500
To take to work, I have made a greek inspired salad
With a lemon, olive oil and oregano dressing.
For tonights dinner I am having seabass
With butter, lemon, parsley and toasted almonds.
Roasted tomato and asparagus, and inspired by @ClareBear crispy kale for the first time!
I will only eat once today, then at about 3am. Then around 5pm tomorrow evening before going back to work again!
If I eat everything I plan too I should average about 25- 28g carbs over the next few days!
I’m looking forwards to my carb fest😋

Some will take exception but I personally feel that the occasional carb up (not talking SAD levels) of veg is good, maybe due to the fact I do love veg, but n=1, let us know how it goes.

It could of been worse! Could of been a loaf of bread or a cake😁

All of this looks wonderful! Enjoy your carb up and your crispy kale! :kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:

This is some sort of keto carb porn! It all looks delicious.

Mouthwatering, @CrackerJax! Enjoy!

I think that a healthy whole food type of carb fest is quite fine sometimes =). Way more nutritious, healthy and yummy then a Carbage carbfest, enjoy =). All the food looks very delicious.

Looks awesome! Enjoy every tasty, healthy bite

Thank you guys for your kind responses!
Dinner was good!

Didn’t feel too naughty :yum:

(Susan) #11

You do such lovely presentations, that looks beautiful and delicious =).

(Karen) #12

It takes a lot of vegetables to make the carbs that cause trouble. Looks beautiful.

('Jackie P') #13

Thank you guys! Obviously I’m not going to eat everything all at once, and in truth it’s not overly carby!
I just had an overwhelming desire to shop, chop and cook some colourful veg. Very therapeutic .

(Marianne) #14

I think it could be way worse.

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #15

It’s so therapeutic, isn’t it? I love some chopping/cooking therapy!

(Bunny) #16

Looks so delicious! (runs to get fork)

That’s no carb fest  - that’s alkaline keto (aka keto green, or my preferred term, Colorful Keto :joy:), and the way I normally eat most every day, usually spred out over two meals :herb:

An average about 25- 28g carbs over the next few days is still pretty low after many months of LCHF/keto, and definitely not a “carb up” - just beautiful foodie eating imho.

At 2+ years in, I’m still often around 50g net per day and continuing to recompose my form slowly but surely (by enjoying liberal veggies, some fruit, dairy, moderate wine depending on cuisine, spices, and/or a bit of 50% chocolate or RS many days a week!).

I never stopped eating delicious, colorful veggies. I love the versatility, variety and flavor. Your creations look mouth watering. Enjoy!!

I feel so much better! The truth is the title was a little tongue in cheek, but I do usually eat less vegetables and more meat :yum:
