Ive been trying to stay committed to keto for some time now and keep falling into carb relapses. I’m mostly doing this for my joints, I’m 38 and have autoimmune disease including suspected RA. Im 5’8" and weigh about 155, and would like to lose about 15-20 lbs.im sold on the idea of a keto lifestyle as I know how good it makes me feel but get caught up in carb trap. Any tips on pushing through and staying compliant with keto? Or is there an accountability thread? Thanks!
How to stay compliant
There IS an accountability area in the Progress sub-forum, where you’re welcome to set up a new topic. This works here, too.
Could you be having cravings in reaction to something you’re eating? It’s not uncommon. Are you logging your food? That could help you find the culprit.
If you think it’s an emotional thing, then coming into the forums to look for ideas to distract you could help. Our search engine is awesome and there are lots of threads talking about that kind of thing.
I hope this gives you some ideas. If you can’t find answers to specific questions, speak up - we’re here to help.
No carbs in the house if possible. Keep cheese, nuts, olives as snacks. Bacon and cream cheese is delish. Eat fat to satiety is key. Hungry? Eat more fat. Set up your new way of eating for success. Wishing you success keto is awesome
Keep no carbs is a great idea, and I wish it was possible. But, I have a husband and two 4 yo who love their carbs (although not too much, but they aren’t keto!). I need to push through. Perhaps this forum will help be a support. Thank you for your reply!
Thank you for the great info. I will definitely be using this forum as a support and logging on when feeling like I can’t continue I will look for the threads you reference here. Thank you for your reply!
