How to lose neck fat or other particular areas

That damn elbow buldge! I’m keeping my eye on him.

If your BF% is 26 than I wouldn’t worry about it, you’ve still got some room to go to hit “normal” I’m sure it’ll go. The areas you want gone are always the last to go.

Hi! So, you really can’t do the same type of treatment that Cool Scuplting does at home, sadly. I’ve been looking into it myself for when I Rach my goal as a reward.
I’ve been getting Botox treatments for almost two years now, they work great. The MD who does it is one of the best people I know.
We’ve talked a lot about weight and migraine issues.
He knows I’m doing Keto to lose weight and he’s really supportive.
Also I know him from working with him at the local hospital.
I’m a surgical nurse.
Anyhow, he went into length about how this treatment is better then lipo for brown fat deposits.
The Cool Scuplting has been fine tuned to safely give the right amount of exact low temperature with the right amount of air and suction.
Ice packs placed at home really can’t provide the same results.
It’s a bit of an investment. But, worth it if you find a good provider with good feedback.
You’re worth it!

This might seem like a silly question, but how would you kill fat cells beneath the skin without killing the skin?

I seem to remember seeing some kind of little machine that was supposed to do something like extreme cold to reduce fat in areas that are not so easy to get rid of, I think it was on Dr. Oz… yeah, I know, it’s not a show I watch anymore at all and know it’s mostly entertainment anyway. But it was kinda interesting. Wish I remembered more about it. Did it have some way to focus the cold beneath the skin? Was it kinda like a “macrowave” type of machine?

Are you getting the botox for medical or aesthetic purposes?

(AnnPutation ) #46

For migraines. But, it does make my forehead smooth too!
It took jumping through a lot of hoops to have it approved, but it really does help lessen the amount of migraines I used to get (3-4 a week).

Dr. Oz is basically an advertisement for whatever will pay him money.
He does though, help make people more aware of medical care and treatment.
Anyhow, your skin cells are costantly being sloughed and replaced.
You would have some inflammation reaction on the surface of the skin where the fat cells were treated.
There is a small risk for skin damage, but it is rarely permanent from my understanding.
If you talk about it with your doctor or a doctor who is certified in the treatment they can review the risks and any possible conditions you may have that would make the treatment not medically safe for you.
It’s practically non-invasive, compared to liposuction. And the results should be permanent as long as you follow treatment courses, instructions, and don’t gain back a lot of weight.

Did keto help lessen your migraines at all out of interest?

I saw that same episode of Dr. Oz and it was a long time ago but basically it is like putting an ice pack on your skin (with a barrier so that your surface skin is not irritated. If I end up with any areas of fat I may try an ice pack at home. I figure I have nothing to lose except fat

I would only try this on areas where you have squishy fat but not lean muscle as you may cause the muscles and fascia to tense up. Mind you that’s just instinct talking.

This is part of the concept of contrast therapy. The building of brown fat. Like many therapies it’s said to be effective with regular and ongoing use, incorporated into an overall fat burning plan.

I’m the opposite- it’s gone from my face & neck, then my shoulders, then waist… I can only hope the weight loss keeps going downwards 'cos it’s below the waist that needs it most!!
Me too!!

Thanks for your input. I think I have to be patient and keep the IF and keto going. Wonder how long it will take. Does anyone have the experience?

The “cryogenic “ approach I’m speaking of is entirely different than the sculpting method. From what I understand, the sculpting method is invasive much like liposuction, except it doesn’t suck out fat, it freezes it, killing it, and leaving it there to be absorbed by the body.

The method I speak of is simply the same as taking cold showers. Or a less extreme version of the big trend of cryogenics where the customer sits in a booth, with only their head exposed (think steam box from 1950’s ) . This box uses liquid nitrogen to cool the customer. Now at this point I have read that the customer is in contact with the LN. I think that’s pure nonsense, for the amount of time spent is said box would freeze a human solid. So most likely it’s just air cooled by LN circulating around making them very, very cold. This process is supposed to turn normal fat into brown fat.

I think brown fat contains more mitochondria, which create heat. The more mitochondria they have, the darker the fat becomes. I think this is a one way process for the fat. I could be wrong about it, I’m just remembering vague explanations from some radio talk show about it. The brown fat expends much more energy than normal fat, and burns itself up quicker than the other fat. The browner the faster.

Something slightly related to the subject…

FYI: 50 c is 122 f

(Miss E) #55

This could explain why some of us feel warmer during ketosis?

(Jennifer) #56

Very very interesting. I am a little afraid of cold so this coldness may be hard for me to do. I am more into autophagy.
I read somewhere that to burn stubborn fat, the best is in fasting mode, between 12 hours to 18 hours. Then some other articles recommend more than 3 days to start autophagy. I am thinking of increasing autophagy. I am thinking of IF 36 hours.

Keep your fingers crossed. Best wishes.
