How to lose neck fat or other particular areas
There are some billboards on the freeway near me about “freezing” fat to spot reduce.
ETA-Coolsculpt is what the billboards say.
Some people allow broth, cofffee, tea etc. during their fasts. It kind of depends on your goals (weight loss vs autophagy, etc). Many people would count what you’re doing as longer than 24 hr fasting, if I understood you correctly.
You can try different strategies to excercise your ability to fast (working up to longer fasts). I now usually add fat (MCT oil, cream cheese, macadamia nuts, or green olives) to my first day of fasting. Gets me over the first day, then I’m usually pretty good after that with just water and salt.
Like most of the others, the neck was the first place I lost. I notice that I hold a lot of fluid in the area when I have inflammation. So maybe try to cut out nuts or dairy since those are a common cause of inflammation?
Oh my. Cryolipsolysis (sp?). Reading about that sent chills down my spine, mind the pun. It reminds me of liposuction without removing the tissue. Instead, let’s just kill the tissue [/que dramatic music “Duh duh duuhhh”] AND LEAVE IT THERE. All silliness aside, that sounds like a really bad idea.
Correct me here if I’m wrong. When some who, oh let’s say got lost in the woods and got frostbite… isn’t there some amputation to go with that? Sure maybe only the fingers froze, but they lose the hand? Isn’t there a very good reason for amputating further up than where the dead tissue is at? One of the reasons maybe to be sure to get all the dead tissue? Hey, I’m not a doctor, but I’m pretty sure tissue necrosis isn’t something you want to just let go away on its own. Unless you are a farm animal, and the farmer is removing your tail or gonads. But those areas are exposed to the air. Air has oxygen, which if I remember right is a sterilizing agent.
Ok, I think I dug my hole pretty deep here. If you are looking into cryogenically removing fat, look into it really hard. It sounds like quackery to me.
Have heard of “coldsculpting” but would likely never fool with it. For many people, it apparently kills around 25% of the fat cells beneath the skin, and the body gets rid of those dead cells in the coming weeks.
The article makes a comment about side effects. Saying that diarrhea is a side effect because of the body getting rid of those dead cells. Makes me wonder how the dead cells are making it to the digestive track.
I would think that dead cells would be gotten rid of by osmosis. Just dissolved away, autophage like. But are those dead cells any good for anything? Freezing pretty much destroys them, but are the lesser parts of them still reusable? Like cells that are taken away because they aren’t needed anymore. They get broken down into useable parts like old cars in a junk yard. Eventually just a useless husk leftover that goes to the crusher. I just get stuck on thinking these things out when something like that article gets me going. Most likely there is something I’m missing, simply because I don’t know enough about it. But asking questions about it usually gets me to what I’m looking for, the truth of the matter.
Bob, I found this: “The CoolSculpting procedure involves using an applicator to apply freezing temperatures to your fat cells so that they die off. The process by which the cells die is called apoptosis. Once these cells die, they collapse and are naturally taken away by your body’s mechanism for removing dead cells. They are eventually processed by the liver and excreted as waste.”

Not sure how complete or accurate that is.
@Jenny88051 In my case, the fat arrived in a certain order, and it seems to be leaving in reverse order. Originally, the only fat I had was around my mid-section, then over the years, my chest and arms filled out, then my legs, then my upper chest, and lastly my neck and face. So my face and neck were the first locations to get thin, and I just noticed that my legs are suddenly starting to regain their shapeliness. So I guess I’ve got a long while to go before losing that belly fat! If you figure out how to make your neck thinner, please let me know, because maybe the same technique will work on my belly . . .
I see. thank you so much for sharing. Maybe the neck fat came the first. But I didn’t notice it for years until recently after losing fat elsewhere. I will continue to do Ketos and IF and will see how it progresses.
Yes. I had a small problem with it several years ago but it went away in a few months.
I have this theory that my body adds fat to the normal places first, then when I get severely overweight, it adds it to the odd places, like the neck, ankles, feet (who knows where else?). I also theorize that the fat comes off the same way it went on. A layer all over, then the strange places, another layer all over and more strange places. Anyway, a month ago, I was just sure there was no fat coming off the back of my arms and that the fat bulge above my elbow, when my arm is straightened, was not budging. Well, I was wrong. I can definitely see that my arms are slimming and that fat bulge is almost gone. Like many have said before, Keep Calm and Keto on. I’m sure the neck fat will come off eventually.
While I have never tried it, I do see adds for laser sculpting which they claim is not surgery with minimal down time. If I ever get to goal weight I will consider it. They list neck as one of the areas they treat
