How to calculate fat consumption

(Robert Smith) #1

I’m 4 days into Keto and Have been transitioning well. My question is, when I cook say a steak or chicken in either olive oil or animal fat, how do I calculate exactly how much of the fat I am taking in. Obviously I can’t consume say two teaspoons if some of it is left in the pan.

I have been putting my veggies in a cup and dumping every bit of the oil and fat on them that I can. I’m just trying to learn how much to calculate that I am taking in

into the pan onto the plate, and then mop it all up then you could say you are getting most of it.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #5

when I was a sugar-burner, my favorite method was to take several slices of bread and sop up as much fat as I possibly could. For some reason, a cauliflower or broccoli floret doesn’t do quite as good a job . . . :grinning:
