How is everyone?

(Nick Eagle) #1

How has everyone been on your woe? I am sooooo rooting for everyone!

(Karl L) #2

I can’t answer for everyone, but I’m doing great! Been keto (mostly) for 9 months and am lighter, stronger and healthier at 58 than I was at 38.

(Keto in Katy) #3

At 4.5 years keto now I am a keto-fied metabolic machine, capable of things that are probably illegal in several states. Like Karl, I am in far better shape at 55 than I was decades ago.

But enough about me. How you doin’ Nick?

(Nick Eagle) #4

Doing great! Far from where I wanna be but closer than I was!

(Lynne Hurley Perry) #5

I have been finding it helpful to focus on 10lbs at a time. I am not 100% of my final goal weight-I will see what feels right when I get there.

(Nick Eagle) #6

Yea im just focusing on following the rules I have set for myself regarding my new lifestyle. I know if I keep focused than the weight will come off!

My oldest brother told me about keto in March 2017. He has been on diabetes meds for over 10 years. In 6 months, he is off of all meds.

I started at 440 lbs. but luckily had avoided diabetes. A1c was 5.9. Current weight is 350. I’ve hit a plateau of sorts. Lost maybe 10 lbs in the last 4 months. But my clothes are continuing to get looser. Time to Keep Calm and Keto On!!!

Frustrated but sticking to it. A bump in the road is not the end of the road.

I am truly grateful this has been relatively easy. Other than fasting hunger has not been an issue. Food is delicious and I don’t miss all of the carbs we used to eat. I have just eaten two serves of Nandos chickens livers and a Mediterranean salad. Not a guilty pang and the liver was delicious.
Wishing everyone an awesome keto day and sending reminders/thoughts of forgiveness and strength to those of you who are returning to a keto woe.

This Tuesday will be 6 months Keto and 6 months of no drinking alcohol. I have stuck to 20 grams of carbs mostly from veggies, but generally eat less than 20g. I feel great and have lost 30 lbs. I’ve been able to buy some new clothes. :tada:

Great job everyone!

Yes, great job

Hey Nick. :slightly_smiling_face:

The end of year holiday time wasn’t pretty for me, from a dietary standpoint, but all is well, overall. I’ve been horrendously far from perfect as far as ketogenic eating, but over the past 9 months I’ve done it enough to reap substantial gains - weight loss, feel better overall, and some progress on blood sugar control; Type 2 diabetic here.

I’m not at all advocating ā€œcheatingā€ or running off the tracks of our intended way of eating, but I certainly think that a getting-healthier metabolic system can better handle the occasional dietary curve ball.

Hey Nick, thanks for checking in with the ā€œgangā€ here.

I stayed keto right through the holidays, kept my IF/EF going as well and feel pretty well really. Have I had any substantial weight loss or NSV, just very minor, but I’m sticking with this WOE and hope to continue seeing improvements in health as well as decreased inches and pounds eventually.

Off to work I go! Have a great day all

Well I started Sept 1 and lost 60 pounds quite easily, no interest in ā€œcheatingā€, just bought skinny clothes, and best of all, love eating FAT! While there’s a wealth of expertise on this site and fascinating analysis, I’ve learned that as long as I’m following my macros, the weight keeps dropping.

At 158 I’m trimmer than in years, and the ā€œproblem we like to haveā€ is how and when to stop it!

After 11+ months keto, I have no intention of ever living any other way. When I started, I thought it would be a short term diet, people would ask what my plans were when I was done being keto. It didn’t take long to understand that this would be my lifestyle moving forward. And knowing that I never have to go back makes me really happy!

Feeling great, I am fasting my weight down as I am tired of being over weight and am impatient. I feel awesome. All my symptoms of my ai disease are gone and weight is dropping as expected. I workout on peak hgh days of my fast to gain the benefits of increased muscle development. Because I am impatient I focus on 10 pound increments. This time I will fast until I am safely into the next 10 pound range so that when I have the inevitable bounce back I am safely in my 10 pound goal range. My husband told me I was melting, best compliment ever! Keep up your great work. I’ve been following your posts and I’m rooting for you.

Good for you! Just listen to your body! Thanks for the support and the update I wish you nothing but success! Dont be a stranger.

Thank you for asking. And for sharing some of your journey. I’m trying to keep on Ketoing on. Continuing to research research research. Listening to podcasts and also I’m currently trying to balance my new IF and EF lifestyle with my delicious Keto lifestyle and trying to cook for and share my enthusiasm for Keto with family members (aka convert them;) ) :bangbang::blush::vulcan_salute:t3:
