How Do YOU Break a Fast?

Ending a 3 day fast (only water, psylium fiber, coffee with HWC 2x per day, 2 nuts the first day when I was starving). I usually do psylium the morning of the last day and again an hour before I end the fast. Normally when not fasted I use psylium about once a week or so.

Have never had a problem when using psylium.

One question, going out to dinner tonight, not hungry at all (shame to end it but have no choice, business associates and it is only 4 of us).

When I ended a 5 day about a month ago I also went out to dinner, had a salad with grilled chicken and fatty dressing. About an hour later I was not well at all. That lasted for a number of hours. That time I forgot about psylium ahead of time. Given that dinner is business and may take a couple of hours, should I eat now? Or wait?

Obviously if I wait until tonight I will have nuts before leaving the house

I recently broke a five day fast with a couple of diced avocados with a drizzle of olive oil and a few shakes of balsamic vinegar. Had no adverse digestive reaction. No nausea, etc.

Broth with some veggies is kind. Put a little HWC in the soup.
Almond milk works.
Suggest breaking the fast a bit earlier in the day with food of your choice vs. restaurant food. Less likely to have a re-feeding reaction.

Generally, I break my fast with nuts, sometimes also with olives or veggies. Then, 30 minutes to an hour later, I eat a ketogenic meal.

I’m curious about the reason why you supplement with psyllium husk during a fast.

Nuts, olives or just coffee with HWC added, about 30 mins. later eat a typical day’s meal. Works for me. No stomach issues etc.

Here is my TMI response.
I did not research it. During my first longer (5 days) fast a lot more came out than went in and it was surprising and annoying. So during my second I saw someone on I think Dr. Fung’s website in the comments talk about psylium. He used it right before he broke his fast. Since this is something I have at home I thought why not>

It acts as a binder. It stopped the problem I had in my first fast and made the transition better on the second, I had no problems. During what was my 3rd or 4th I forgot to take some and it was not pleasant. However it could have been the place but I was eating with 7 or 8 people and no one else had a problem and some ate salad although different ones than I

Started with nuts and did real keto food about 2 hours ago and so far ok but I am more tired than usual. Not sure it is the diet because it has been an extremely stressful day at work as some out of the ordinary things came up. SO NOT hungry for dinner although I am craving sweets
