Hopeful after a month, but why did i gain this week?

(Katie) #1

Hi everyone, so happy to find this. I lost 12 pounds in my first month, started using an app to track macros after 2 weeks and feeling really good. I don’t have sugar cravings and love the way I feel. However, this week I GAINED 2 pounds and I’m super bummed. I did have one meal (Thurs night) at a restaurant where I ate off plan (only the 2nd time in 5 weeks), I did it knowingly. My main meal was all kept but there was an appetizer I wanted and had just a little bit. Maybe 20 extra carbs total.

Is that enough to reverse my progress? My gut says just double down with the rest of the meals and it will right itself. Thoughts?

Your gut is smart.

Weight bounces around all over the place. here’s my last two weeks.

I weight myself daily, because I’m a data junkie mostly, but ALSO because I know weight bounces around and so doing it once a week can mislead me.

Also, the other positive factors you listed far outweigh the scale result anyway.

Thank you juice. Weighing daily sounds like something i will do! Thanks for your support.

People will tell you not to, but I say it’s OK AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER THAT WEIGHT CHANGES UP AND DOWN CONSTANTLY. Watch the trend line, not the daily numbers.

Water weight. I weighed 6 pounds more day before yesterday than I did this morning. KCKO!

Far out, no likes left yet again.

IKR?? I’m terrible about running “all out of love.”

(Wendy) #8

Today the “out of likes” is acting wierd. When I first got on this morning it said I was almost out on my first like. Then it said I was out but continued to allow me to add likes. Anyone else having this?

(Wendy) #9

Like they^ all said. My weight flunctuates a little all the time no matter what I’ve eaten. Two pounds means nothing unless it never goes down again.

I know it can be hard early on, but try to think in terms of long term health, weight loss/ maintenance.

KCKO.

(Katie) #11

thank you everyone!

(Running from stupidity) #12

Yeah, it’s lying to you, though, like sugar hidden in a restaurant sauce. It colours the heart in red, but if you refresh, you can see it’s not so. (Assuming you’re actually totally out of likes. I did the experiment a couple of days ago.)

(Wendy) #13

Oh you’re right! But that doesn’t explain how I was out of likes on my first like of the morning.

(Running from stupidity) #14

I guess it runs on a 24-hour cycle that resets at #somearbitrarytime

(Wendy) #15

Guess so. I guess I’m out of love. :kissing_closed_eyes::cry::sob::fearful:

No idea why it limits to such a small amount, but it is kinda weird because it causes more posts, because then you have to start posting emojis.
