Homemade ranch dressing

(Bill C) #1

I have tried several different homemade ranch dressings but I have found this to be the best. You, of course, can modify to taste or preferences. In other words, less garlic for some or no sucralose for others. Also, I make large batches since I eat salads daily. So much cheaper than Annie’s Cowgirl Ranch dressing and about half the calories with plenty of fat.

2 cups buttermilk
2 cups natural sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
8 cloves of garlic
2 T powdered buttermilk
2 T dill
pinch of sucralose
1 T dried mustard
half large onion finely minced
2 T chopped chives
1/4 cup vinegar

I had never thought of using powdered buttermilk. How many carbs does it have? I tend to put lemon in some HWC because I don’t want to buy a carton of buttermilk, sounds like a great alternative. Sounds like a great recipe for ranch. I love homemade dressing.

Saco powdered buttermilk thickens the dressing and gives it a nice rich taste. 3g of carbs per tablespoon for a total of 6g for the entire recipe, so not much at all given it is spread out over dozens of servings.
