Started the diet in late July. I’m down 16 lbs now, but I was having trouble getting my ketones above 1 mmol/l so I did a 62 hour fast last Tuesday/Wednesday. That did it - I got my ketones solidly in the 2’s - peaking at 2.9 mmol/L. While my A1C is normal, my blood glucose level has been 110 - 130 for over a decade (not sure what causes this) and it bottomed out at 79 last week. Yesterday, however i had a few extra carbs - was at my in-laws and had two glass of dry red wine (generally drink vodka and soda) and two spring rolls with 15g carbs each. I had a few ounces of left over steak for lunch and sag chicken (very keto friendly - chicken, oil, sour cream, spinach, butter, spices) over riced cauliflower for dinner. I was obviously above 20g, but I didn’t think that would be enough to kick me out of ketosis, and knock my glucose up, but this morning at 10:30am my glucose was over 130 mg/dL and ketones dropped to 0.8. Is a total of 70 or 80g of carbs enough for that big of swing? My ketone reading on Saturday was 2.9 mmol/L.
Edit - I felt like Sh1t after getting my ketones in the 2+ range. I assume that was the keto flu taking me for a ride?
