Help me to show him the science

#1

Hi everyone
I’ve been following a KetoDiet myself since October 2017 I’ve only lost a few kg but I’m quite slim already so for me this is more of a lifestyle than a diet.
My husband is a doctor (GP) in the UK
He’s very overweight and has tried loads of diets he’s currently on a low fat reduced calories diet and is getting some ok results. (We’ve been here before!!!)
I’ve tried to talk to him about the benefits of LCHF but he’s really resistant and as I’m pretty sure is common with married couples it’s become a point of contention he’s completely convinced that there’s no good evidence or properly researched papers and clinical trials to support what I’m saying.
Could all those great geeks out there who love the science please send me some links to the best possible clinical based studies as he’s agreed to have a look.
I’ve offered to buy him obesity code book and others like it but he’s insisting he just wants data.
Sorry this is a bit long
Best wishes to you all
I’d love to help my husband get healthy and as a doctor maybe pay it forward a bit and help some of his patients.

Reference Dr David Unwin who won an NHS Innovation award for his work with LCHF diets to reverse T2D.

Not only obesity but we all know how linked all metabolic dysfunctions are.

Why this hasn’t become NHS policy is borderline criminal…

This should do it.

Thanks!

I think that dietdoctor has a whole series of Dr Unwin explaining LCHF for GP’s so he would be the exact target audience.

Eight Doctors Talk About The Myths of Cholesterol and Saturated Fat

Published on Jan 12, 2014 Eight Doctors give their perspective and research on the topic of Cholesterol and Saturated Fat and the role they play in human nutrition. They explain how the common perspective is flawed and is not based on good science. Present day science shows that not only are cholesterol and saturated fat not bad for human health but they are actually beneficial. The real primary cause of heart disease is inflammation from a highly inflammatory diet. The main culprit being sugar and sugar forming foods such as processed carbohydrates.
