I was keto from April 2018 to first of January 2019. 5’2" 40-something woman. IF 18/6 5 days a week. Hashimoto’s, celiac, etc. I lost maybe 10 pounds. It was enough that I got rid of my larger pants, though.
Since January it’s been a steady stream of travel, company, varying work schedule, illness (mine and family), hospitalized parents, round of steroids, pain (physical therapy starting to help)… I can’t seem to get traction to get started again. I think part of my problem is that I was stalled for so long before (5 months) and just can’t muster enthusiasm.
I’ve stayed low-carb but not keto or IF since January (around 30 net carbs most days, never more than 50). My weight is back, and I have exactly two pair of work pants that fit.
I’m approaching the weight I was when I was about to deliver my 13 year old. I know my thyroid med is right on the border for the next dose, but the doctor and I talked, and I wanted to wait until my next blood draw in October to see if it should be raised.
I thought about jumping in with a longer fast, but I’m reluctant to do a longer than 18 hour fast because I do have blood sugar that likes to drop after I eat, probably related to my Hashi’s. I don’t know if it would be more pronounced after a longer fast but I did work my way up to the 18 hours when I did it.
Any best jump start strategies? Especially for short ladies :o)
