So if something like strawberry cream cheese that has a Keto grade of A. Do I have to limit to lose weight ? Or can I eat foods with an a grade all I want?
Help I’m NEW!
I have never heard of the grading system you are using. Where did you get that from?
I"m not familiar with grades nor do I hear people around the forum talking about them. WIth that being said, your carb allowancs is determined by how strict of a carb budget you have and how dedicated you are to staying within that budget…
Here’s some simple tips to make keto as easy as possible:
Keep net carbs under 20.
~You can likely start a bit higher and work your way down but 20 is a good honest number that will allow you to eat plenty of vegetables along with fat and protein.
Use a carb tracker like cronometer.com
~so you can accurately track your carbs. It tracks many other things but this is the most important
Feed yourself plenty of fat and fairly moderate protein
~These two things are your best friend in regards to keeping hunger and cravings in check. You should not gorge yourself on these things but eat until you are not hungry. It’s very important to not starve yourself, so eat when you are hungry.
Keep your electrolytes up.
~At least 64oz (2liters) of water and 2+ teaspoons of salt per day. We don’t retain either of these very well on a ketogenic diet and those two things are paramount for reducing/preventing the Keto Flu
Don’t stress and get plenty of sleep.
~Growing, healing and losing weight work best when we are relaxed. So try to get 7-9 hours per day and don’t obsess with what keto is not yet doing.
Hello and welcome. I use an app that along with Macros it shows you a “food grade” Honestly it really doesn’t influence how I plan out my meals. It’s just there to tell you what to stay away from.
Example onions are grade F “avoid” they grow from underground so not a great choice. Whereas cream my show as an A, which is a good staple in a Keto kitchen. This does not mean you can have all you want.
Keto Grade is a measure of how well a food fits the keto diet, and is based on the macronutrients, glycemic index, and other factors from a standard serving size of the food. ‘A’ means the food is keto approved, ‘B’ means limit, ‘C’ means strictly limited, and ‘F’ means avoid entirely.
You need a variety of foods to get a healthy source of fats, protein and veggies. As said before you need to focus on your carb limit and try to not go over. Those grades are just to tell you if the particular food is good on Keto.
