Problems with the gut can aggravate palpitations via the Vagus nerve which is in the vicinity. I’d see a cardiologist, just to be safe. I’d also have serum and intracellular levels of electrolytes checked just to be sure you’re in the correct range.

Best wishes.

I had back ache for the first few weeks on & off starting keto- I read somewhere that it could be down to the boday detoxing, & it went off so I guessed that was the cause… Don’t know if it could be that with you? I didn’t notice it the first time I tried keto (for 2 weeks), but had it the second four weeks later when I started keto again.
I did see a thread recently about palpitations where electrolyte levels seemed to be the cause- you could have a search & see if you could find it.

Something that bit me is mannitol. It can give chest pains that are very similar to angina. I had some sugar free york peppermint patties as an alternative to having a carb heavy meal after a stressful day, and I started having sharp chest pains. They lasted all the way till the next morning, which is what told me it wasn’t heart attack pain - they only last 10-15 minutes. I got an EKG and my heart is actually better than 6 months ago.

No more sugar free candy for me. Even those damn keto bars will give me slight twinges now. I’ll just have them damn mexican food - less stress :stuck_out_tongue: Did you eat anything with mannitol in it?
