Had a Real Bad Day

#1

So i had a real bad day today. Probably ate 2 to 3 times what i should of done regards carbs/sugar and im now out of Ketosis. I feel like an idiot who has ruined my first 10 days doing this. Id lost 12 pounds in that time and it was so easy for me i felt.

I never had cravings or felt hungry at all. My wife said something to me today about this diet, and something flipped in me and made me fall off big time. My question is am i back at the beginning or can i pick up where i left off from tomorrow?

hey bro,I really dont have cravings anymore and dont understand anymore how others have them but what I do understand is everyone is different. Some people function as vegans,IFYM,SAD,Atkins(least favorite),etc and find what works for them. Ill tell you right now the beautiful thing about keto is yes,you can restart until you get it right!

ask me anything?
need help with cravings,I got da recipes.
need help with others opinions,I got da responses back!

I feel so fat and bloaty now. I wish i could remember what triggered me to not give a damn. I know i feel so much better when i eat just OMAD and dont snack. Hoping i can get back into it tomorrow.

drink fluid, drink up and flush your body of the bloat, wake up too a nice cup of BPC,start over simple!

All i drink on keto is water.

Thats Perfect,I personally struggle a bit with plain water so I drink unsweet tea or mio

even better! (that you olny drink water)

It happens don’t worry it takes time to change bad habits.

I have swapped emotional binge eating for fasting and its awesome :grinning:

I just feel disgusted with myself. It’s weird how it makes you do that. Oh well tomorrow is another day. Another keto day that is. I hope i get back into it quickly with no side effects.

You’ll be surprised how easy you get back in ketosis :grinning:

Just get back on track and carry on. No sense in beating yourself up.

It all starts right now. Not tomorrow or the next day…
Remind yourself why you chose this way of eating. Read a chapter from your fav keto author. Clean the cupboard out of non keto food. Organise to have a BPC or coffee and cream in the morning. Read more tomorrow to bring you back to first principles.
When you have some space away from feeling guilty about your lapse give yourself permission to understand or realise what triggered you. Most of us have had a past of disfunctional eating where food served other than a nutritional purpose. When you have some understanding on how you were triggered you can then put some strategies in place to work through these situations. We can be keto and fully satisfied but if we have a disfunctional relationship with food we can eat when not hungry and then feel terrible afterwards.

Sometimes relatives, especially close family , push buttons that send us to the emotional, always there for you, comfort of carbs.

I’m just disappointed that the first thing i did was turn to food. I will use it as a lesson learned and continue onwards into a healtier lifestyle

I get cortisol spikes when people aggravate me…so bad that I reflexively open the refrigerator…this too will pass…

Thanks. I sure hope it does.

I think there are very few people on this forum who started keto only once or have never fallen away from the diet. You are certainly not alone. Just pick up where you left off and eat a nice, fatty meal.

You got this, and we are all here to support you

Try to see it as a beneficial learning experience! Now you can compare keto to non keto and now it’s worth it to try to stick with it, because you feel better!

I’ve certainly been exactly where you are, multiple times. But it really is true that it’s not useful to beat yourself up…because then you might overcompensate in the other direction and do things to “course correct” that are equally disordered like force a fast or binge / purge or deny yourself food. Trust me, that’s a slippery slope that you don’t want to go down. Instead just try to forgive yourself-imagine you’re commenting to ME and I just messed up-what would you tell me? How would you encourage me? Now say that to YOURSELF because you also deserve forgiveness (/ don’t need it - you did nothing wrong, but we’re just human), and then move on. Dream up your next keto meal and start looking forward to it! Bacon and eggs? Guacamole and cheese crisps? Etc! You got this!
