Make goals and strive to work hard everyday strengthened by prayer and trust in the Lord Jesus (i’m a Christian so I choose Jesus but please feel free to insert your faith or however you believe here) to accomplish them.
This also goes for your health/fitness goals whether it be reversing diabetes, mitigating the effects of years of bad nutrition/health choices.
You have to choose to do all that you can do with your talents and gifts to accomplish said goals and they (your goals) MUST be more important to you than the things that distract you from accomplishing them.
For instance, people always ask me why I don’t “cheat” on my “keto” journey.
My response is that cheating doesn’t and never will accomplish my goals so i keep that knowledge before me so that I won’t and cheating is NOT one of my goals.
I also at least two or more times a day visualize where I want to be at the end of my journey realizing that I must be faithful not only to my God but also to myself in doing so.
Cheating is a choice so own up to it if you do cheat but also stop making excuses why you cheat since that is a big part of why the cycle of how you became unhealthy is never broken in the first place.
However, if you do happen to stray off course while on the journey towards your goals don’t condemn yourself as we humans quite often do.
Simply reaffirm what your goals off and get back on the road towards them and bring other like-minded people who are traveling a similar journey (US…your keto family) along with you and enjoy the journey.
When we face the truth about ourselves it will most definitely set us free.
