General questions about the Forum, and Hello!

(Steve S) #1

Hello!!

I’m new here… Just started Keto 3 weeks ago, and so far it’s going well. But there’s lots more to learn. As I learn more, I have more questions… as expected…

And so here I am in the forums! Yay! But I’m worried that I’m doing it wrong…

My question is about getting started in the forums… I don’t want to annoy folks.

Replying in the same thread… a simple thank you, or a reply to someones question…Same thread is OK? Or should it be via PM?

When answering in the thread, is it considered rude if I don’t quote?

Any etiquette tips would be welcomed, or perhaps a link to a thread that already has the info.

My apologies, but again I didn’t find anything. A search on ‘forum etiquette’ didn’t bring up any helpful info. (Actually, it brought up 5 threads of helpful info, just not THIS info. Hehe)

As Always, Thanks in Advance.

Steve.

Hi Steve. You can always send personal messages, but giving thanks or replying to a question in the same thread is just fine. If you are answering someone, and your post is the next one after theirs, then there’s less need to quote. If you’re talking about a post that’s farther up in a thread, then quoting does help everything make sense. It’s easy to quote, just drag your cursor across the text you want, i.e. ‘select’ it, and the forum software automatically does the rest.

Thanks for the quick response, and the info! Much appreciated!

Also, @Steve_S, if you hit the Reply link directly below someone’s comment (not the reply button at the bottom of each thread), then your response will have a link to that specific post that other can click on to see which post your replying to. Even if you comment comes much further down the thread.

But don’t be too concerned, we’re pretty forgiving around here.

Look forward to hearing more from you.
