Gained weight 2 days in a row

I don’t know either! I just know there is so much conflicting “evidence” when it comes to restricting calories for dieting and then it having adverse effects on your metabolism. I don’t have THAT much fat to lose so I feel like eventually I will have to eat more to function well. But I think I have many months before that happens. I’m just afraid I’m gonna eat again and gain all this fat and maybe more back.

How did you find out your BMR? Did you calculate it or did someone do a test on you?

I feel better cutting fat out. I was always bloated, gassy, constipated. Carbs make me feel worse altogether but I hate being constipated lol. But if I’m fat adapted, do I HAVE to add more fat?

I read that alcohol can stall weight loss even on a keto diet. It’s probably not fat you gained though. You’ll probably bounce back in a couple days. It might still be making its way out of your system.

I had a BMR test done at the local university early last week. Based on my body size and composition the formulaic conclusion was around 1350, but the actual test results were only 1100. I wonder if calorie restricting for the last few months dropped my BMR by 250 calories

Most of last year I was eating around 1800 calories/day and training hard 5-6 days/week. I had the best body composition I’d ever had. Then I started gaining weight for no apparent reason. I cut calories, cut meals, basically panicked. Which was probably the worst thing I could do. When I finally got tested my thyroid and sex hormones were way off. Plus I was dealing with chronic constipation.

I tried everything for the constipation, and here’s what finally helped me. 1) I did an EF that seemed to re-set some things, 2) I ate LESS total fiber and switched from mostly raw to mostly cooked veg, 3) I started taking 1 big swig of magnesium citrate (from any drug store) and 1.5 doses of Miralax/night.

Since I made those changes the constipation ceased. I’m doing another EF starting soon to try to get completely past the constipation so I don’t need to take things to make myself go.

Good luck on your journey!!

That was quick, I stepped on the scale today and those 5 pounds vanished. Maybe my weight was just fluctuating or I was bloated.

This will always happen when tied to the scale. I’m much better weighing myself 2x a week instead of every day. And varying the days between depending on how I feel at the moment. Trying to keep it apples to apples.

Yeah, I know I shouldn’t weigh everyday, but I like to watch the numbers change. :stuck_out_tongue:

Then you will live by the sword (and enjoy) and die by the sword!
