I was wandering the aisles at Walmart mostly to get some ice free walking in on my crutches. I was also on the lookout for things I could use on my ketogenic journey. I ran across this bottle in the baking section with the cooking oils. It was $10 and change for a 16.9 oz bottle.

This is the same brand of coconut oil that I buy, itâs really good quality. But, does this taste fishy?
I just opened and had a tsp with my fat soluable vitamins as I am on an extended fast. I could detect a very faint fish taste. Iâm not sure if it would be noticable in BPC? I was prepared for it to be awful, it wasnât objectionable at all.
I will try it in my coffee tomorrow.
I think it says it has omega 3, 6 and 9. It just markets the omega 3 part more on the packaging. I donât see percentage breakdown of the different types of omega oils. Iâd investigate this more. Because Iâm not sure what they mean by ârefinedâ salmon oil. Is it diluted in other non omega 3 oils?
Iâve always heard Omega 3 is where we become deficient, and our bodies cannot make it, which is why supplementation is good. Omega 6 is prevalent in butter, cheese, eggs, pork and beef products. Omega 9 is something our bodies can manufacture.
Some refined oils are bad but some arenât. I use refined coconut oil because I donât like the taste of coconut in everything. The key (at least for coconut oil), is how they refine it. I donât know anything about this particular oil though.
Interesting. The article from Authority Nutrition states that a diet higher in monounsaturated fats has improved insulin sensitivity and reduced inflammation compared with a diet of saturated fats. I have been enjoying high oleic Sunflower oil which was tested to have higher omega 9 (MUFA) than olive oil by a long shot. I plan to reduce my intake of coconut oil but will continue eating the fattier meats and yolks with saturated fats. Continue lots of fish for omega 3 and limit nuts and seeds with high omega 6:3 ratios. Macs are the best choice. Does this make sense?
May I ask at what Walmartâs you found this? I know the things I find at the Walmartâs in Gainesville Fl. is not always the same ones I find in Ludington, MI when I shop there.
Alma, MI Looks like the company has a website you can order from directly but I paid about a buck less than they get for it.
They make a pretty good peanut butter powder tooâŚ
I couldnât find the Omega 3 stuff on Amazon.
