Inspired by some recent posts by @Brenda. Needed a snack in the car.
For Brenda: Carconut!
That stuff is my goto. I keep it around all the time like a safety net.
I’m not one of those people who can stomach eating a spoonful of coconut oil in order to squash a hunger pang. But coconut manna is another story --my God but that stuff is good.
Doesn’t coconut manna have a significant amount of carbohydrate like peanut butter? Let me Google that…
It’s got some, but not too bad. You don’t need much to feel satisfied. A spoonful usually does it for me.
Your particular brand has 3 grams carbohydrate per tablespoon, 2 of which are fiber.
Not bad.
I like to heat it up and put a drizzle on ice cream. It hardens and ends up like a magic shell.
Let’s Do Organic Creamed Coconut, 7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00113ZZ5U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_igyGybVTYXAM0
Apparently this is the same exact thing at half the price. Just have to heat it and put it in your own container because it comes in a bag.
So what exactly is this stuff and why does it taste so much better than straight coconut oil? Bc I struggle even with cooking with coconut oil sometimes (I know, blasphemy!)
Its the coconut meat mashed up like almond butter ,that’s where the fiber comes from,I use this more than the oil,but only occasionally, it is good stuff though
So is it more of a topping like PB, or do you still cook with it like coconut oil?
It’s like natural peanut butter made with only peanuts. Except this is coconut. Lol
