First OMAD

#1

Did my first 23ish hour fast yesterday. Little bit of hwc in coffee and one mug of bone broth for lunch. Hardest part is mentally…it’s 12pm, it’s lunchtime! The other hard part was deciding what to have for dinner but I enjoyed figuring that out. I want to do a longer fast but realize that being busy will help. I never thought not eating for this period of time was possible when I was a carb burner!

I have been doing IF for several weeks with ease, but I am wanting to do a 48 hour fast soon. I think my “mental hunger” will get the best of me at lunch and dinner times for sure! Did you see any weight loss?

First of all, i don’t have much weight to lose. I’m doing keto for some weight loss and just healthier living, potentially help with my psoriasis. With that being said, I didn’t have the strictest weekend which was part of my motivation to do the OMAD aka get back on the horse. I was hanging around 197 going into the weekend which bumped up to 200 yesterday morning. I had a pretty big dinner last night but found myself back down to 197 this morning. I did not have breakfast today and see how i feel at lunch but considering doing OMAD again today mostly to see what the scale says tomorrow. I’ve been on keto for a little over two months, I enjoy experimenting to see what the scale says and to see how i feel. This is my slow time at my job working on a golf course, as the weather warms i will get busier. That’s when i plan on doing a 36-??? hour fast and see how it goes. I’m down around 16% body fat so not sure how i will do but yesterday was pretty easy.

BTW I’ve heard on some podcasts that day 2 of the fast is the worst and to stick it out for day 3 if possible as that is when you really start enjoying the fast. I can’t speak from experience and i know every person is different. Anyone else want to give an opinion on this from self experience?

I was also amazed when I was able to do OMAD, two day and three day fasts without unbearable hunger. The hardest time for me was when dinner time came around because my body had an expectation to eat. A few hours later, the desire to eat was completely gone.
