First attempt ant 5 day fast

ello

just broke my first 5 day fast with 3 over easy eggs… was thinking of going longer but started feeling weak … so dint extend more… done 4 day fasts without issues before… this time around… felt weak on start of the 5th day… was bearable though no biggie…

My question is … that after breaking the fast… sort of feel like puking … is that normal… do i need to do anything… or juss let it pass?

That’s a long time to go without anything in your digestive tract and then to add three eggs… I would bet that it is gonna take your system a little bit of time to “come back online,” explaining the nausea. Have you broken 4-day fasts with eggs in the past?

I’d consume fluids until it passes- totally normal, but unpleasant. I’m sorry, friend. But nice work on the fasting!

ty… used to have a medium sized cucumber 6 hours before actual feasting… and yes… i usually start feasting with over easy eggs to “get things moving”;

this time around, forgot the cucumber… will try water… ty!

Your body wants that cucumber, it would seem!! Good luck!

water + time did the trick me thinks… nausea’s gone… now to feast!!! :smile:

@Brenda has mentioned some people do not do well ending their fast with eggs.

Something about the enzymes…maybe try something else to end your fast the next time.

I am a guy who drinks some pickle juice and a couple olives, then 1/2 hour later eats a ribeye. No issues but likely what everyone else has said.

It depends on what you mean by “well”. I’ve found eggs are great to breakfast with. Sure they wreak a little havoc, but at least you don’t end up putting any weight back on from that first meal…:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I personally have no issues ending a fast with eggs. Like a parrot, I was just repeating what I’ve heard.

Sorry, tone is sometimes lost in text; I was kidding. I agree with @Brenda. I made the mistake of breaking fast / binging on egg salad after an EF a couple months ago…12 eggs worth. It screwed my system up so bad I ended up fasting for a couple more days because nothing would settle.

Now I usually break with a ribeye, then after a little while, chase it with a couple eggs…and pork belly, because it’s always the right time for pork belly.

N=1…or 12? :grin:

Speaking of breaking fasts, how long you going till? I think I have a few more hours left in me, but not sure if that’s mind over matter. My left eye is starting to get twitchy but I guess it’s better that my eye is having muscle spasms instead of my stomach. :slight_smile:

I think it’s the mental game for me right now. I started early because I wanted to go longer. If I went to Sunday, it would be my longest fast ever, but now I keep thinking; it’s friday night, tomorrow is st paddy’s day, 96 hours is long enough, plus other excuses I keep coming up with to break.

I’m currently in the same situation. I would love to go till tomorrow night, which I know I can do, but I leave on Monday and would hate to waste some of the keto foods I have in the fridge. Not to mention, I’m 8lbs down with this fast and I like where the numbers on the scale are at so I’m savoring the moment for as long as I can. Lol

YES… that’s another huge excuse I keep coming up with too. Perfectly legit, don’t want to waste perfectly good food, especially keto friendly food.

The scale is part of why I want to keep going too. I’m down 10 lbs since Monday and if I wait, then tommow at this time will likely be a number I haven’t seen in many years. I know it won’t stay there once I break, but it would still be fun to see.

Damn, I picked the right fasting partner! Or maybe the worst one.:thinking: We’re thinking exactly alike but im wondering if thats a good thing since we’re supposed to talk eachother off the ledge, not give directions on which window to use. :joy::joy::joy:
