First 72 Hour Fast

fasting
extended

(Frank) #1

I just started my first 72 hour fast. I’ve been doing Keto for 3 months and are adapted. Been doing 16/8 IF for a while and felt like mixing things up a bit.

Here is what I’m taking and planning to do during this time:-

  • Supplements: Multivitamin, Fish Oil, B12 Complex, Vit C, Potassium/Magnesium

  • Bullet Proof Coffee (with Brain Octane MCT), Herbal Tea, Water (with salt/ACV/Lemon)

  • Got freshly made Bone Broth as a backup, just in case.

Am I missing anything?

I will update as things progress.

Good luck with the fast Frank.

You might want to skip the multivitamin. It could make you nauseous to take it without food.

24 Hours In!

I am about to call it a day. I made it through the first 24 Hours. It was fairly easy!
It was a busy day at work and I actually worked late (9:00pm). Decided to take the Underground and walked the odd 8 blocks home. Feeling good, and no hunger so far.

Morning: Supplements & Bulletproof Coffee with Brain Octane MCT.
Afternoon: A small black coffee.
Early Evening: A small black coffee.

Been watching my Electrolytes. Drank water throughout the day and salted it with Himalayan Pink Salt. Aiming for about 3-5g for the day.

Once I got home had a big cup of water with some ACV & Lemon Juice.
Will take some Magnesium before I go to bed.

72 hours DONE !

I did it! Yesterday was much harder than the first day. I was fine until about 4 in the afternoon, and then this weird body buzz started. My hypochondriasis also kicked in and made me aware of all sorts of phantom sensations in my body. It lasted until about 8:00 in the evening.

However today I woke up with loads of energy and no brain fog. Day 3 was as easy as Day 1 for me.

If you told me 3 months ago that I will be able to fast for 3 days…I would have told you that you are crazy!!

Is this something I will do on a regular basis…I don’t know.

It was a fun experiment none the less. Most importantly I proved something to myself.

I felt the same way…day two around 4 pm I was not satisfied…walked and drank lots of water with a 1/4 tsp Himalayan salt directly on tongue…hot soak in Epson salt and early bed, next morning I felt like I was walking on sunshine. Starting another one this evening.
