I’m one week into Keto and it’s working, but struggling finding crunchy and sweet store bought Keto snacks? Is there a good store bought Keto tortilla or Keto bread or Keto crackers that any of you have found that have low crabs and great macros? Thanks!
Favorite store bought Keto snacks
I definitely eat more of this than I should:
And another really good cheesy, crackerlike snack is microwaved cheese. I take about 2-3 ounce of pecorino or cheddar and place it on parchment paper sprayed with Pam. Nuke it for about 45 seconds and let it harden.
Or you can make cheese chips like this:
It’s really best to try to NOT snack. There are some Keto snack foods out there, but they’re pricey and you have to be sure to read the ingredients. Some say they’re keto friendly and they’re not.
Better to eat real foods, such as cheese and olives, or a pickle, that sort of thing. I have had a couple of the KNOW cookies and liked them well enough.
As for bread, I’m ok with the Sola breads. 3 or 4 net carbs/slice. It’s a small slice, but if I’m really wanting bread for something, that’s what I’ll use.
Since the point of a well-formulated ketogenic diet is to lower insulin and keep it as low as possible throughout as much of the day as possible, snacking is counter-productive. Better to eat a bit more at your meals, so that you can go longer without having to eat, since your insulin rises every time you eat.
Thanks so much all for your great tips. Yesterday I started wanting something crunchy… I’ll try that sola bread and pork rinds. I did make some Parmesan cheese chips that were yummy. Thank you again… I’m still learning this diet. I’m down 4 lbs in a week tho so it’s working!!
One thing we found recently that has been a godsend is the Fit & Active flatbread at Aldi’s. They’re 7g net carbs and a pretty decent size. They’ve been one of my new go-to’s for something quick. I’ll layer some meat and cheese on it, toss it in the microwave and then roll 'em up.
